All joking aside, let's not make the mistake of underestimating Putin.

I do not in the least underestimate him. If he could solve his (Great Russia's) birth/death ratio problem, he'd be my bet to take all the marbles.

As a Pole, I say that with great concern.

Right you are, CA.

This guy is tough. Cunning, calculating and very dangerous. The Russians have never truly denounced Communism. He plays Judo and O plays hoops with his family. He makes O look like the chump appeaser that he truly is.

Think about a Russo-Sinai alliance against the Western wimps. We are looking at more bumps in the already rocky road ahead.

The Sino-Soviet alliance is, IMHO, a done deal.

Pooty-poot's issue is whether his boffins or the Hans' chaps will get to the ethnicity-discriminating bioweapons first.

Point well taken, CA.

I wanted to start my Friday in a more relaxed manner but now I am in my sour and fatalistic mode again.

We really are fucked! Thanks for reminding me.

Sorry, bro.

If it's any help, the Russkis will NOT be on Mo's side come the War of Extermination 'tween the Moongoddies and the West.

..yes that is good news but only a small bonus.

Seems the old Chinese saying: may you live in interesting times, is actually a bit of a curse.

Cheers.

And when the oil money runs out...well just look at the military downsizing since 1991, continued unabated with a few interruptions. The fact that the Russians could not nip Chechnya in the bud, or wont help us in Afghanistan is disconcerning.
