Train in proportion to reality though. (99% boredom, 1% terror). Shooting is good, and life or death, but so is sprinting, and long distance stamina, as CA points out repeatedly here.
Images of tubby commandoes with $4,000 "sniper" rifles come to mind. Or the guy with the tricked out rifle that would die of a coronary before entering the playing field.
Shoot, shoot, shoot. Train, train, train. Remember though, you have to make it to the fight IN FIGHTING CONDITION.
I really like the drill. Once you master it, try it after a hundred yard sprint. Or fifty pushups. Or in the cold, when you can't feel your hands. Shoot it lying on your side. Shoot it with you nonfiring hand. Shoot it after falling to the ground. See how things change.
