Please consider using this (or a similar) message to your elected Federal officials on Monday:
Dear [insert title and name]:
I have read in reliable sources that the BATFE has issued rulings in the past month which make both certain airguns and all pistol-grip shotguns illegal.
As my elected Federal official, please contact this agency and deliver clarifications of these issues to me as soon as possible this week. I also urge you to call for immediate hearings into the operations and the continued necessity for this agency.
I await your written response.
Your employer,
[insert your name]
Yes, I know that the rulings did not say exactly that.
This is a freaking constituent letter/call.
What staff for these people do is exactly that -- get things straightened out for their constituents.
What we are doing here is exploiting the breakthrough made by others.
Please do this on Monday, via fax and by phone call.
Thanks in advance.

Consider it done!
Next, Let's repeal...
NFA 1934
GCA 1968
FOPA 1986 (actually, it falls when the GCA of 1968 dies)
You know, all of the things Newt Gingrich promised in 1994 and then laughed off in 1995.
US House Representatives John Boehner (OH-8) and Eric Cantor (VA-7) cosponsored H.R. 2296 (AKA "Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives Reform and Firearms Modernization Act of 2009).

As ranking members of the new House majority, they may be amenable to enforcing tough new restrictions on the BATF(u). Of particular interest is a recent decision to reverse a ruling that had been operative for more than four decades.
"ATF today posted a ruling declaring any shipment of a firearm by a manufacturer (FFL) to any agent or business (e.g., an engineering-design firm, patent lawyer, testing lab, gun writer, etc.) for a bona fide business purpose to be a "transfer" under the Gun Control Act of 1968. As a consequence, legitimate business-related shipments will now require the recipient to complete a Form 4473 and undergo a Brady criminal background check. In many instances, these requirements will force shipments to a third party, thereby lengthening the process and the time that the firearm is in transit."
"ATF officials have acknowledged this is a radical change from ATF’s long-standing interpretation that this was not a 'transfer' under the Gun Control Act that was set forth in a 1969 ruling ('Shipment or Delivery of Firearms By Licensees to Employees, Agents, Representatives, Writers and Evaluators.') and further clarified in a 1972 ruling. In other words, ATF is now saying its long-standing rulings, issued shortly after the Gun Control Act was enacted, were wrong. ATF should be required to explain why it took 42 years to decide that its original understanding and interpretation of the Gun Control Act is now somehow wrong.

Evidently they just make this stuff up willy-nilly and "presto" they manufacture a whole new class of criminals through administrative fiat. Criminalizing B-B guns is just one more affront to the sensibilities of honest men.
It's pay-back time. Don't neglect Boehner and Cantor when contacting your own representatives.
MALTHUS
Sent to Senators Bond and McCaskill (MO) and to Congressman Roy Blunt (MO-7, senator-elect) and Billy Long (congressman-elect for MO-7).
Thanks, guys.
Remember the follow-up calls on Monday.
Pat, do you have a cite for that promise by Gingrich? I have come to loathe him....
Nelson (FL)
LeMieux (FL)
Kosmas (FL)
Not worth the waste of electrons to give them a laugh.
Now come January, it will be
Rubio (FL)
Adams (FL)
and there MAY be some value to doing this.
Done as well. I also sent it to the White House.
Done
done
