But Where Are The Teeth?
In response to a comment asking the question above regarding the upcoming DC occupation, I noted:

Free men and women are always free to act at any time in any manner, in accordance with their ethical codes and their long-term interests.

Just remember: the spear is not the point, and the point is not the spear.
Some folks see an attempt at mass civil disobedience as a necessary step along the force continuum; others do not.
So long as those others who disagree with the Second Bonus Army are doing something to defy the ruling class and their apparatus, there's no reason that parallel tracks can't be run.
Sounds like basic non-technical project management to me....aided by the fact that there is no chain of command and no "structure" to be disrupted.

I like the Bonus Army reference. An all too often forgotten chapter in our nation's history.
A lesson from the Bonus Army march: Yes folks, American troops WILL and ALWAYS HAVE fired upon their own citizens when ordered to (Disagree? Name for me a time when they have, en masse, refused when ordered to pull the trigger. Never.). The officers presiding over such acts often become national heroes! Quit fooling yourselves, those of you relying on "Oathkeepers" to preserve your life and liberty. They will, and have, historically followed orders.
We're all free people. Anyone desiring to use more teeth is FREE TO DO SO AT ANY TIME. While I do think that simple demonstrations are at this point a waste of time and degrading, much as a parent threatening a child by threatening to "count to three" instead of demanding instant obedience, I think we are shifting the purpose/focus here. I think we are talking about initiating a new phase, one of constant pressure as opposed to griping. We are slowly shifting beyond demonstrations. This is a slow but sure escalation. Patience is required here.
All of you clamoring for more teeth (and I have done so at times as well) are free to provide them. Fact is, you won't right now. Why? I don't know. Perhaps you know the time isn't right. So be of use for the movement where and when you can. Continue to train, continue to improve yourself, but for crying out loud, do all you can now to help. GO to DC. Help someone get a ticket, if you can't go. Go to your congressional office. Be a THORN IN THE SIDE TO THEM. No more saying "sir" or "ma'am", no more leaving on the insistence of a staffer anxious to quiet things down.
I think these events should not be the quiet, respectable events seen thus far. Tea partiers were quiet when Pelosi paraded her gavel (read...power) and rubbed their noses in it like a dog who crapped on the carpet. What we need is some genuine UNREST.
I, as a husband and father of six, owe it to my family to do all I can to stop this nonsense. I owe it to them as well to be there to tuck them in and read stories to them, to teach them history and values. I owe them this as much as I owe them the possibility of a free future. Before I kiss them goodbye, before AMREV III, I have to do all I can to prevent what is coming short of betraying my principles. I would die for my family, I would die to give them freedom, but I am likewise obligated to live for them now, while I can.
Where are the teeth? Oh, come on, they're right in front of your face (actually, they’re part of your face). Step up, men. Do what you think is right. Just don't pretend you're ready to take off the gloves when you're afraid to verbally offend some corpulent and aged congressman. Don't pretend you're ready for the hell and horror of war when you're scared of a misdemeanor charge and a few hours in jail. The blogosphere is doing its part, on both sides, of prepping the battlespace. Now do your part.

Here’s the point again, articulated by CA:

I in no way intended to disparage or marginalize current Oathkeepers, only to point out that they are in minority, IMO. That's based off my 9 years of active duty experience.
