Remember, Russia "reset" the value of the ruble and printed all new ones. The old ones were no good anymore, and the people lost three zeroes in the bargain. When you turned in a 1,000-ruble bill, you got a nice crisp new ONE-ruble.
I don't pretend to understand all the financial intricacies, but I DO see the cities fining people for breathing too deeply, practically. I DO see enforcers of unjust laws becoming the enemy and even the most socially conditioned of folks beginning to lose their patience. Imagine what already borderline personalities will be like.
Yeah, I feel real sorry for Chicago. What you are seeing is a septic tank that has been festering for years in a democrat-controlled environment of unions, race-hustlers, and political corruption going back to the first Mayor Daly. Let them tear each other apart, just like the parasite classes in the other festering septic tanks such as New Yawk, LA, Houston, Atlanta, etc. These liberals have created this Frankenstein's monster. I watched them in '65 pull the pastrami commies out of their cadillacs and beat the shit out of them during the first Watts Riot. Now it will be even more exciting. I look forward to the news coverage.

That scenario's exactly why I'm a BIG time gold/silver bug, & I've been hearing/reading rumors that the Imperium's (VERY quietly) considering doing an FDR-style confis, uh, 'voluntary' turn-in of privately held precious metals in order to stave off an economic crisis/prevent their use for terrorist funding purposes/whatever Imperium lie the populace will accept. S.O.P.

Basically any urban area'll devolve down to 3d world conditions once the system's teat goes dry, the truly horrific places will be south Jersey/NYC, the Baltimore/D.C. metroplex, the southern 3d of FL, Detroit, Memphis, New Orleans,the DalWorth metroplex, SLC, Albuquerque, the Bay area, & the L.A. area/Dago. The reason I use the term horrific is for the types of acts that'll likely occur & the scale of the carnage inside a given area. Lotta stiffs/parts of same, & the dead'll be envied by those that've been taken away for 'playtime'. One wonders if the celebs/other 'important persons' will be able to get to their Lears/Gulfstreams/similar before things get REAL egalitarian.
I sure hope not.
