All too well.
Google how to make ammunition.
Search Archive.org for cartridge manufacturing.
Search scribd.com and docstoc.com for ammunition and cartridge
Download as many chemistry texts as you can. Those who are skilled at chemistry, we will need alternatives to current smokeless powder and primer compounds as well as a means to process copper tubing into cartridges.
Oh, also search for plastic round patents.
If someone can solve why ammopulver changes its state at 86 degrees that would greatly help.
Either that or we'd better figure out another way of sending copper jacketed slugs at high velocity.
I've accessed the regulations website and submitted a comment. Comments open through October. All real studies have shown no adverse effect from lead ammo. This is just a back-door ban attempt.

Molon Labe.
Cassus Belli, if enacted.
I may do some writing to officials on this, but they will do as they please regardless of what we want.
After all, government knows best, right?
Scary. You know it's getting bad when the Fudds who work with the ATF on the 'Don't Lie For The Other Guy' campaign are concerned.
Although prices have been coming back down on ammo, something else to consider is the long-term trend in prices on ammo:

Of course, an outright ban will have its own drastic effect on prices....
I've read it elsewhere, and if this ban goes into effect, I will do likewise, and turn over to the government all of my lead ammunition, one bullet at a time.
Billions of rounds in private hands. We didn't buy them to let them sit and become archaeological relics, and we SURE didn't buy them to turn them in (at less than muzzle velocity, that is).
I think they would come up with a reason why we shouldn't have bismuth and copper as well. The reason is Waxman's Principle: "If they're thinking of using those guns to defend their rights, I'm uncomfortable with them having guns at all."
No doubt that the left will continue to try to take steps towards their eventual goal - bans on guns. I am surprised that with control of Congress that severe gun cotrol has not been initiated.
Take care all - Rourke
