That mindset was decided after the war of 1861.
I have some advice, but it's not something I would say in the company of people I respect, and it's anatomically impossible anyway...

When I support the “institutions of government” that means the Constitution, the rule of law, checks and balances, the separation of powers, fair elections, representative government, etc.
Ya....he can go fuck himself.
There is no proper role for a standing army. Such is an abomination.
