And, before or after your call, use the Governor's web site to write him a polite email as well.
Done.
Done. Wished him Happy Bill of Rights Day as well as Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Call made.
I called and informed the Governor's office of my outrage at this case. He should never have been charged nor prosecuted. I also stated, as a resident of PA, that N.J. gun laws prevent me from doing business with anyone or any business located in that state. I won't spend a dime in that state until they come to their senses about the RKBA.
If and when Mr. Aitken is granted a pardon I would hope he lets his mother have a stern lecture about calling the police.

They've apparently gotten a lot of calls - when I said it was about Aitken, I got passed off to an aid.
I politely told the woman that I thought that Gov. Christie should pardon him, because after a thorough review of the information that is available to the public, it is plain and obvious that he did nothing wrong. I also told her that merely commuting his sentence was not satisfactory, since he would still have a record and had done nothing wrong at all.
Phone call made.

Busy day at the governor's office, I bet...
Justin
I just called, the aid said she would be sure to make a note of it. I said I'm calling to urge the governor to free Brian Aitken, what happened to him was a travesty of justice and just wrong.
I saw a good post on Kerodin that mentioned this.
In it, he excoriated Americans for not risking their butts to fight tyranny for strangers.
From behind a keyboard.
Now, I admire Kerodin's writing, but even if I had traveled 3,000+ miles (literally) from my state, risked my life, fortune, and family, and freed him, here's what would have happened.
1.) Mr Aitken likely would have refused to leave, or would have turned himself in. Most people would have. We are still THAT SET on obeying injust laws and tyrants.
2.) Immediately, I would have been demonized by the FedGov and media. My fellow 3pers would have bought the propaganda, and would have deserted me in droves to prove how: "legitimate", "reasonable", "honorable", and "law abiding" they were. After all, who wants to be called "bad"?
3.) I would have been criticized by the 3per movement, en masse, for being "hot-headed", and we would hear some other miscellaneous drivel about no more Ft. Sumpters.
4.) Once imprisoned or killed (my wife and six children left all alone with no 3per support forthcoming because of my "rash" criminal acts) the 3per community would go on speaking about no Ft. Sumpters, not stepping back, yada yada yada, ad nauseum, ad infinitum.
I would be dead, my family alone, and we would still be living under a tyranny. Qui bono? Leviathan.
Ok, Kerodin? This is why I went to work today instead of busting him out. It is why you do what you do instead of acting.
Face it, folks. There WILL NOT BE A GLORIOUS STRUGGLE FOR FREEDOM. There WILL NOT BE A REVOLUTION, RESTORATION, whatever. Ain't gonna happen.
There WILL be more free Wacos, Katrinas, etc. We WILL continue to step back.
While this may piss off many here, I challenge any of you to prove me wrong, using only facts and examples. Our track record proves me to be right. As for FedGov kicking it off, there will not be a mass slaughter of Americans, no martial law, no FEMA camps, no FedGov provocations. They're not stupid. And we won't act, for the reasons previously outlined.
So why exactly are we, the frog, sitting in this pot watching the heat get turned up?
Is it because what we have is worth more than what we say we would fight for? Are we really just boisterous and loud, but just as placated with our lives as the "sheeple" we claim to detest?
Let me tell you this, brothers.
There are Wacos and Katrinas happening every day. Every day.
Is it less evil for one innocent person to be murdered at the hand of state sponsored terrorists than for a whole compound to be? Supposedly we won't tolerate 80 killed at once, but 80 killed on seperate days is fine, right? No more free WACOS? Hah. Happens every day.
Katrina happens EVERY DAY. You want an example? BRIAN AITKEN. Ok, "no more free Katrinas", right? If you profess that, you're a LIAR.
This is why I constantly say this:
We're screwed.
Thoughts?
I know, I know, shut up, I don't know what I'm saying, yadayada, hot headed punk kid, on and on. You can call me names as has happened before, but please, convince me I'm wrong. Otherwise, this 3per thing is rather hollow.
I'm not giving up on liberty by any means, but all the bold rhetoric combined with the inaction makes us look rather silly. We should drop one or the other, or become irrelevent.
Justin
Not sure if this made it through:

I hope you got my last comment. Not long after, Kerodin posted an article nearly mirroring my thoughts.
Right on Sam...
Lines in the sand.
Waco and Katrina happen everyday, people.
Don't draw the line if you're not willing (or able) to cross it.
'Cuz then you just look silly.
:-)
Right on, Kerodin.

For Justin:
That is why when we each decide the time has come for action, we must make SURE enough evil is destroyed before they destroy us. I expect to die in the process, but will destroy as much sewage as I can before then.
