Quote of the Week

Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will. Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them, and these will continue till they have been resisted with either words or blows, or with both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they suppress.

-- Frederick Douglass

That final sentence may be one of the most profound, succinct and challenging capsule declarations of the feelings of far more than 3 per cent of the citizens today.

'Funny' how both Douglass & B.T. Washington's repeated exhortations about the necessity of black self-reliance & letting go of the past being crucial to black advancement have kinda sorta been 'forgotten' by the black 'community' & replaced w/ the ethos of perpetual victimization & grievance, isn't it.

Wunner how THAT happind?
