Word

I never let people get away with saying "the fourth of July", as that's just some date on a calendar. The Holiday we are about to celebrate is INDEPENDENCE DAY.

Well stated by the rifleman on the way to the range.

However, just as shooting consistent sub-MOA takes careful study and discipline, so does understanding and maintaining independence. Sadly, it is only a small minority in the current day who are so disposed to that level of discipline.

EXCELLENT admonition! Just as I remind people that Feb 14th is properly called SAINT Valentine's Day and for a reason, I will immediately begin to re-educate how to refer to our Independence Day celebration. Thank you!!!

Maybe it was once. Now it's just the Fourth of July.

We need a new Independence Day. The old one's broke.

I agree. Celebrating the "4th" is a little too generic for me. We need to remind people that we are celebrating our independence and the sacrifices of those who made our liberty happen. Happy Independence Day.
