What a deal. We were supplying a vehicle factory in Russia with equipment and the very trucks produced there were going down the Ho Chi Minh Trail.
Boehner was eyeball-to-eyeball with Barry today, and he blinked. The Republicrats are caving and there will be no govt shutdown. It appears that Wisconsin will have their collectivist, pro-public employee union Supreme Court Justice, so the patriot Walker and his supporters are dead in the water. This, I guess, is the Hegelian synthesis. Or, as Mao said: "Two steps forward, one step back." All that can be done now is to prepare for an Amerikan version of the Weimar Republic and the steet fighting which will follow.
I also see it around me in my friends, obedience to the state sponsored news programs. All Hail Fox!!! Heil Beck, Heil Beck!
It has become both a form of religion and political obedience. Sickening, in the lack of brain cells used by the average amerikan! What would the public do if the TV died tomorrow? Instant shutdown for most people, nobody to issue orders anymore. What do I do, who do I hate, who do I vote for, etc? Clueless, the new amerikan state of mind.

I am imagining what the end times will be like, and it certainly seems like we're heading into it at supersonic speed. I'm not all that convinced that there is anything we can do to stop this, but I will probably die trying.
I do not want to live in the alternative circumstance.
Try before that. My unit blew away two Ford trucks on the HM trail in 1970, filled with rice grown in Louisiana, USA, stolen right off the docks in Saigon. Man, and does that stuff stink when you bury it with dead NVA, and then it rains. I didn't eat any rice until about 1980.
Sean, I am helping a Lao SGU veteran, my father in law, write his memoirs. He was born in an area that became part of that trail and went to war because of the atrocities the PAVN committed to create that trail. I almost can't even face him after reading some of the denser histories of state department deal-making in that war. The nice thing, however, is that he has no illusions, and is one of us.
