Volk On Freedom

The master, Oleg Volk, renders the definitive poster for the rifle-open-carry movement.

The issue is personal freedom.

Nothing more.

Nothing less.

Carry yours in public this September 17th.

The whole "swords" thing has me thinking???
Does Volk have an image about Toyotomi Hideyoshi? (First Shogun of Japan)
He was the "most sucessful" gun controller in history.

A few highlights:

-Before Hideyoshi, Japan had the most guns on the planet, just 100 years after introduction by the Portugese.

-When Hideyoshi took power he called in a "sword hunt", and completely disarmed the peasants.

-overnight, Japan actually lost the art of making firearms

-Samurai and daimyo could CUT DOWN A PEASANT WHO "OFFENDED" HIM!

-Hideyoshi said the swords would be melted into a Buddha statue, he melted them down into a statue of himself.

-After Hideyoshi's death, his son was overthrown by Tokugawa Ieaysu, who commanded a minority of the population, perhaps if Hideyoshi had heard of Machiavelli, he would not have disarmed the people.

This guy is literally the model of all gun controllers worldwide, they all operate the same way.

Not kidding-There is a town in Yugoslavia that is building a Bill Clinton statue, with melted down guns.

It's good to remember that Sean Connery, gun control advocate, was relieved of even his sgian dhu like any other peasant in Washington at some event (second Clinton inauguration?).
The history of that little knife says a lot about the tradition of armed freemen.

I have asked some of the other Patriot bloggers to address a concern I have. I will ask you as well.

What of the 10%? I know its not as exciting or glamourous as being a Threeper, but do you honestly believe we have a chance without the active, direct logistical support of at least 10% of American gunowners? I didnt think so. So why arent why spending any time talking about them, the role they will play, and how best for them to direct time and resources in support of that goal?

You are spot on.

35Then Jesus asked them, "When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?"
"Nothing," they answered.

36He said to them, "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. 37It is written: 'And he was numbered with the transgressors'[b]; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment."

38The disciples said, "See, Lord, here are two swords."
"That is enough," he replied.

"What of the 10%?"

Perhaps 3%'ers could develop a wishlist of what they want from the 10%. Here are some ideas:

private emergency surgery
private non-emergency medicine
private banking
private email
private web browsing
private web forum posting
private classified ads/craigslist/ebay
private shopping at the mall
private shopping at the hardware store
private dispute resolution
private church services
private motel
private auto repair
private restaurant
private laundry
private taverns/bars/entertainment

Gee, looks like a small town's business district in a privacy-oriented libertarian culture, doesn't it? Why don't you skip the restoration and go directly to a privacy-oriented libertarian culture?

A good list: the only thing we need to do is undermine the State's institutions with voluntary institutions, and avoid their bureaucracy. Without the bedrock of productive people, the whole edifice of the State will sink into the swamp of slime where it belongs. Best course of action is to have as little to do with them as possible, ignore them as much as possible, and laugh at their pomposity every chance you get. Everyone deserves to see that the emperor has no clothes.
