The Republicans Are Lost: A Continuing Saga
It looks like the GOP might very well take back the House this fall. They even have an outside shot at the Senate. If some of the dynamics, such as the results in Missouri last week, continue to move in their direction, this could be an historic election. My reaction to that is basically “So what?” As I’ve said before, when it comes to any serious change in direction for the country, the current crop of Republicans is not the solution, they’re part of the problem. It’s no better now than when I wrote the earlier post. The oleoginous Cantor is still in the House leadership. You can seem him in a picture associated with this article in the Washington Examiner, which points out that the GOP has absolutely no idea what to do if they happen to get back the Congress...

Eric PATRIOT Act Cantor is my congressman. I have sent him thoughtful letters and emails and gotten back form letters that appear to have been somewhat tailored by a staffer. Seems I have been dismissed with a pat on the head. I will be voting for his third-party opponent. As House minority whip, Cantor has quite a bit of say in what's done. He has chosen the gently-sloping downward path. He and his colleagues should be crossing the aisle to punch some heads. Instead he's shaking hands.
My last email advised him that when we the people have had enough, it will become obvious. That was about three TEA Party demonstrations ago.
If only Republicans knew and cared what a republic is.

I agree and disagree. Many of the Republicans are dyed-in-the-wool statists. However, you also have those like me, who live in States where minor (read: 3rd) party candidates are effectively hamstrung.
Party is a tool, like any other. When it ceases to be useful, it should be laid aside. The goal is Liberty, as we like to say, by any means necessary.
If that means we put Liberty Activists in ties and run them as R's and D's, then so be it.
I was at the Restore the Constitution rally, I was a Marshal. This was during my campaign. I open carried a pistol and carried a Gadsden Flag at my town's Independence Day Parade.
I will not apologize for the principles of our Founders. I would ask that some bite the bullet and do what is necessary to effect real change and Restore the Republic.
At this stage of the game, that may mean attending County Executive Committee Meetings, brunches, and running with a Major Party Endorsement.

Just remember, don't return any incumbents, from either the Dem or Rep halves of the socialist party.
I'm afraid that the US government is permanently out of control.
It cannot be repaired no matter who is elected, even if 535 Ron Pauls were elected it would be difficult because the government itself is out of control administratively and by every other measure.
We can either gin up some other type of Republic, or better yet, return to the Articles of Confederation. After all, the Articles of Confederation created a "permanent union".
Theoretically, as soon as the Constitution is repealed, the Articles are in force.

So why is this such a bad strategy? To win a war, it is not necessary to always be on offense.

Polls show Democrats are in free-fall as a consequence of their policy blunders. Why interfere with the process by calling attention to your own ineptitude?

Instead, organize your forces and when the enemy has got half his army across, put the whole of yours against it. If you disclose your purposes too soon, the opposition will withdraw and seek a more advantageous opportunity. Why let him slip through your hand and escape his intended destruction?

The national bums are all preselected by their respective parties, you're NOT going to get any real reformers in unless you scare the living fuck out of the establishment-and if you try they will say fuck it and drop the hammer on full on martial law.
