Progressives joining Islam is as a food animal wishing to join the wolf camp for the security and warmth it offers. "Rabbits are always welcome at carnivore camp. Our Prophet, in his Book (To Serve Rabbit), proclaims it to be so."
The Purifiers are still idealistic. They have not yet come to understand the means needed to get to the stated end. Some will begin to understand the process and accept that they are actually "Eliminationists" who must become very efficient killers of humanity for the dream to be realized.
As usual, it's us versus them, to the end.

As I imagined myself faced with life in such a world the true meaning of "absolved", as used in the book of the same name, became very clear.
I'm part of the Proletariat and I don't want the crap these guys are selling....
It kind of makes me want to burn some tires on my lawn, while mockingly dancing around the fire in some fake Indian (American Indian that is) rain dance, while slathered in Whale Oil and talking on my new Iphone.
There you go, hope that was offensive enough for these idiots...
I agree that there is a coalescing of the Progressives, mostly as a result of the resurgence of American Classical liberalism, i.e. the Jeffersonian/Libertarians. Libertarians are like Holy Water to the Progressives.
The main fault in the essay, and a glaring one in fact, is that Zionism was born of and remains squarely in the Progressive camp, it is not capitalist in any way and never has been capitalist. This fault causes the entire essay to fail.
Further proof Mark Steyn got it right in his book "America Alone". The communists will take the West, and then they will get annihilated by Islam.
Much as I dislike both sides in that fight, if one has to win, let it be Islam. For the most part, Islam is content to contol only the major aspects of life; it leaves plenty of wiggle room that isn't present in utopian socialism.
In the meantime, sell weapons to both sides and hope they inflict lots of casualties on each other.
