I don;t know why the author keeps referring to "progressives"as "collectivists". It presumes that we are individualists, only.
Everyone is a balance of collectivistic association and individualistic. Is not gathering on the banks of the potomac a collectivistic endevor? Is not all flocking to this website and somewhat agreeing collectivistic? Sure, of course.
Collectivism isn't the enemy. It is natural. It is how movements become strong.
The enemy is the smug "I know how you should live" mentality.
