Latest in the "From Meccania to Atlantis" Series
Having cited previously to this continuing big-picture series in the Brussels Journal, Vanderleun's post of the latest entry reminded us to provide not only that link:
Part 14 (²): Freiheit 451; excerpt:

Freedom is no more than a piece of combustible paper: a forbidden book, a speech draft in longhand, a film no longer printed on combustible stock but still setting minds aglow. All tyrannies in recorded history have sought to burn, confiscate and banish that paper or other media that carried the ideas of liberty, and to burn or banish the authors. Nowadays, such tyrannies exist primarily in Dar al Islam and in its lesser franchises of elective dhimmi socialism (abbrev. dhimmisocialism) in Western Europe and Canada and in nascent forms in the United States and Australia....

To understand the magnitude and intensity of the struggle before us, one must understand that the War on Guns and other traditional American freedoms is part of a massive global conflict between the individual and the Collective, be that Collective defined in the language of politics or of alleged "religion".
The losing battle being fought in Europe by Geert Wilders and others (see this speech by Wilders and Wilders' movie Fitna) is precisely the battle we here in North America face, even if we delude ourselves into believing that things have not deteriorated to that point yet.
It is a Holy War that is being waged across the planet by the Collective against the individual, with all of the terror, death, slaughter, and destruction that such catastrophes always bring.
Do you understand yet?
Are you willing to fight in that manner?

A Proposed Constitutional Amendment
Background and justification to Amendment 28
Whereas Religion is defined as an institution dedicated to improving social conscience and promoting individual and societal spiritual growth in a way that is harmless to others not participating in or practicing the same;
Whereas the United States of America was founded on the ideals of individual rights, including the individual right to practice one’s religion of choice, or no religion, and that there would be no compulsion of religion, nor state sanctioned religion, nor a “religious test” for participation in the body politic;
Whereas Islam includes a complete political and social structure, encompassed by its religious law, Sharia, that supersedes any civil law and that Islam mandates that no secular or democratic institutions are to be superior to Islamic law;
. . . .
Therefore: Islam is not a religion, but a political ideology more akin to Fascism and totally in opposition to the ideals of freedom as described in the United States Constitution, especially the Bill of Rights.
Be it resolved that the following Amendment to the Constitution be adopted:
Article I
The social/political/ideological system known around the world as Islam is not recognized in the United States as a religion.
The practice of Islam is therefore not protected under the 1st Amendment as to freedom of religion and speech.
Article II
As representatives of Islam around the world have declared war, and committed acts of war, against the United States and its democratic allies around the world, Islam is hereby declared an enemy of the United States and its practice within the United States is now prohibited.
Article III
Immediately upon passage of this Amendment all Mosques, schools and Muslim places of worship and religious training are to be closed, converted to other uses, or destroyed. Proceeds from sales of such properties may be distributed to congregations of said places but full disclosure of all proceeds shall be made to an appropriate agency as determined by Congress. No compensation is to be offered by Federal or State agencies for losses on such properties however Federal funding is to be available for the demolishing of said structures if other disposition cannot be made.
The preaching of Islam in Mosques, Schools, and other venues is prohibited. The subject of Islam may be taught in a post high school academic environment provided that instruction include discussion of Islam’s history of violence, conquest, and its ongoing war on democratic and other non-Islamic values.
The preaching or advocating of Islamic ideals of world domination, destruction of America and democratic institutions, jihad against Judaism, Christianity and other religions, and advocating the implementation of Sharia law shall in all cases be punishable by fines, imprisonment, deportation, and death as prescribed by Congress. Violent expressions of these and other Muslim goals, or the material support of those both in the United States and around the world who seek to advance these Islamic goals shall be punishable by death.
Muslims will be denied the opportunity to immigrate to the United States.
Article IV
Nothing in this amendment shall be construed as authorizing the discrimination against, of violence upon, nor repudiation of the individual rights of those Americans professing to be Muslim. The individual right of conscience is sacrosanct and the practice of Islam within the privacy of home and self is strictly protected to the extent that such individuals do not violate the prohibitions described in Article III.

"Atlas Shrugged".
But it will take many of us, together, to achieve John Galt's dream.
Now, where to locate Galt's Gulch. . . .

Read TEXTBOOK OF AMERICANISM (1946) by Ayn Rand . It sums up the 2 sides very nicely.
Why is it relevant to legal punishment if a marketplace bomber is Islamic or Christian? Wouldn't it be simpler to say that murderers shall be killed, regardless of motivation?
"Islam" is a tactic, like "terrorism". It cannot be an enemy.
Fundamentalist Christianity has motivated and excused a thousand times more bad American policy than fundamentalist Islam ever has. If you want to ban a religion because it teaches a self-contained moral worldview superior to the Constitution, start with Christianity.
I figured I'd get a claim that Christianity is more dangerous than Islam despite that the respondent offers no support for that analysis.
There are none so blind as those that will not see.
"I figured I'd get a claim that Christianity is more dangerous than Islam despite that the respondent offers no support for that analysis."
For that analysis, see the comment thread for: http://westernrifleshooters.blogspot.com/2009/11/how-muslim-piracy-changed-world.html
Let's try to move the football farther down the field this possession. THIS is the recent war record of Christian and Islam, AND it is not relevant to the question of recent Christianity being more dangerous than Islam, BECAUSE...?
Please let's not discuss the red herring of the war records of Christianity vs. Islam which are more than 100 years old, in any location. These are not current troop movements.
Total up all the damage done to America in the last 100 years by: a) fundamentalist Muslims, b) the Federal Reserve. The Muslim fundamentalists killed a couple thousand people and a couple skyscrapers, which doesn't even add up to the damage from car crashes in a year. Whereas, the Fed counterfeited away 95% of five generations' savings. The Fed's damage is bigger by a factor of what, a billion? A trillion? "Blame your troubles on the funny-looking foreigners over there, look, one of them is holding a bomb!" is just politics' desperate to attempt to distract you from recognizing your biggest problem: politics itself.
from Pam Geller over at Atlas Shruggs -
"I love life. They love death. So everyone gets their wish."
Speaking about the need to take out Irans Nuke program.
I agree. Give em their wish.
Unfortunately, my proposed amendment isn't really enough.
It's going to come down to them or us.
Count on it.
Most of the above comments seem to indicate no reference to Takuan Seiyo's essays.
I am stunned by the depth of erudition, historical, philosophical and spiritual, and the undeniable force of truth and conviction.
I am in awe of such intellect (and that is a rare admission on my part!)and fully understand the reluctance to "debate" the tenets of his essays. But is a simple acknowledgment of such a tour de force explanation of the devolution of western culture, of Sacred Liberty itself, too much to ask?
Or did any of you actually bother to read the material?
There will be a test on this material. No date certain at this time but it will come, any Friday now. No pass/fail, no multiple choice...
Live or die.
"But is a simple acknowledgment of such a tour de force explanation of the devolution of western culture, of Sacred Liberty itself, too much to ask?"
He got the most important parts wrong. Truth is that any system that allows majority vote gets eaten up by the freeloaders -- and the freeloaders keep getting weirder the longer their reality-feedback is delayed. The solution is to prevent forcible transfers regardless of excuse, not to abridge the freedom to travel, work, reside.
