Green Eyes & Black Rifles

Order this book as a full-spectrum guide to practical skill development with the AR/M16/M4 platform.

Combine it with this field manual and these two videos.

Add one of these AR15 .22LR conversion kits and two of these full-size .22LR mags.

Finally, take one case of acceptable for practice 5.56x45 and 1000 rounds of Winchester whitebox .22LR to the range.

Work on deliberate aimed fire at full distance (out to 300 yards or further), as well as reactive practical shooting at "city block and under" distances.

You'll be glad you did.

Tempus fugit.

Books are nice, but you really need someone to show you how things work. I'll be heading to an Appleseed shoot in October(only one in Missouri this year), but more advanced skills are hard to come by without spending a lot of money, which a college student doesn't usually have.

You will enjoy your Appleseed event.

The book has an excellent series of drills in shorter-range work for folks that have to self-train.

It's one of its strong points.
