Italian Banks Wage 'War On Cash' As Consumers Pass On Plastic

Pay cash, and take your financial life offline.

Eliminate and then avoid debt.

Resist.

Been saying this for some time. I quit the banks 2 yrs ago and my life got a lot more simple. Electric and town water I pay with cash. I pay other bills with a Postal Money order (1-4 /month)and no more dealing with banks. Let them starve to death!!
I quit XM radio, cable TV, phone company, etc and hope they all starve too. They are raping us into the stone age and I decided to cut my bills in every way possible. It was tough, but can't tell you how free I feel today!!!!
If you continue to buy all their toys and play by their rules, you are enabling your own rape. STOP!

Somehow I missed that as I receive Mises everyday.

Vietnamese also. When they need $10K/100K whatever, they borrow from their family. So different from what I'm used to since in my birth family, all transactions need to be accompanied with legal documents.

“Italians have a strong family tradition that leads them to avoid debt and save a lot to ensure their kids a future,” says Bacconi University’s Carlo Alberto Carnevale-Maffe. “They like solid investments such as houses. And for renovations or purchases made under the table, what better way than cash?”

Back in the mid-Eighties, Congress considered a proposal to make American cash computer-legible, such that a bill would embed its history in a fashion that prevents the concealment of its provenance. Murray Rothbard characterized that, correctly, as an attempt to eliminate cash. I understand that proposal has resurfaced and is once again under active consideration.

It started with the abandonment of gold and silver. It won't stop there -- and anyone with an eye to self-defense should know what steps to take.

And use gold and silver, too.
