Broken Arrow

Read these two pieces by John Venlet, along with their embedded links:

Broken Arrow

First Shot Justification Thoughts

Those questions are being debated, quietly, across the world by freedom-loving people.

Exam time is almost here.

Hope you've done the coursework.

Lots of people think that Fort Sumter was the first act of war in the War for Southern Freedom, but of course it was not.

The Union government had agreed, in writing, to not garrison Fort Sumter until negotiations for reimbursement for the costs of the fort were concluded. The Fort was new construction and had no troop units assigned to it.

In the middle of the night, Christmas Day, the commander of the Union Garrison of Fort Moultrie moved his troops to Fort Sumter, that's an act of war.

Further, the newly independent country of South Carolina gave the Union government nearly four months to remove themselves from their soil, all the while allowing the men in the fort to secure food and other "necessaries", but no weapons or supplies for weapons.

It wasn't until a second act of war was perpetrated, an attempt to reinforce the garrison at Fort Sumter with an additional 300 Union Army troops that South Carolina fired upon the fort. Since this was clearly an act of defense of country, it was the right thing to do. No soldier in the fort was killed.

Anyone attacking the Union, er the US government, at this time is acting in self defense. The US government has already fired the first shots many times. It's setting up to fire many more shots at Americans, petitioning the FAA to allow unlimited drone flights within any US airspace, armed drone flights.

So, it's not about firing the first shot, it's about when will you turn and stand your ground while under continuous assault?

I wouldn't worry about any of this anyway. It's Reichsbanner all over again. The only way any of us will not get waxed in the first sweep is sheer luck. Those who do get picked up first will be comforted by the thought (while looking out through the barbed wire) that they held the moral high ground. Or whatever it is you have after watching liberty strangled, and thousands murdered, raped, and robbed.
