Sober Counsel On The Brown Victory

Three solid thinkers on the Brown upset last night:

Vanderboegh: Brown Won. Big Deal. What Has Changed?

Codrea: What Does Scott Brown Victory Mean For Gun Owners?

Vandam: While You Were Out Celebrating Scott Brown's Win...

Read all of each piece, please.

And remember:

Like it or not, constitutionalists and libertarians must face the fact that the large majority of their fellow Americans, across the political spectrum, are perfectly fine with state-effected armed robbery through taxation, nanny-state intrusions into personal lives, and virtually limitless government power at the local, state, and Federal levels.

Those same Americans also view most freedom advocates as potentially dangerous extremists, meriting, at the very least, surveillance and investigation.

The Brown victory changes nothing about that cold, hard set of facts.

Back to work, Threepers.

While I was elated with this victory - it signalled to me that a large part of the American public has actually woken up and decided that the ultra-Leftists now in control of government are out of touch and out of control - my elation is limited by a simple reality check:

1) There aren't more than 50, let alone 60 or more, U.S. Senators dedicated (even in word, let alone deed) to the principles of the U.S. Constitution and the concept of maximizing personal liberties at the expense of governmental power;

2) Ditto for 50% +1 in the House;

3) Gigadittoes for the current occupant of the Oval Office;

4) Ditto for federal court system; and

5) Ditto for virtually every state government.

We have a long, long way to go until we restore the dream of the Founding Generation. But we have a reprieve - the worst and most virulent of the statists have been knocked down a few pegs, and it is a signal of more to come. I truly pray for much more of the same in November, so that we can have that most ideal of situations for the liberty-minded...divided government.

Meantime, we must use that reprieve to our maximum advantage. Train ourselves, mentally, emotionally and physically. Gain allies. Replenish stores of ammo (the ammo shortage should ease more rapidly now than it has been in the last few months), other military-related hardware and supplies plus food & medical supplies. Acquire more firearms, repair and/or improve those that we already have, and beef up supplies of spare parts. Most importantly, work for the election of like-minded candidates - defeat the enemy (statists of all stripes, but particularly the worst from both parties) peacefully and from within.

We haven't yet won anything. The bright spot is that people think "something is wrong." Most don't know exactly what that is. A lot of minds still need to be opened.

Remember the old Gatorade commercials, "Be Like Mike!"

Ignore the hype, keep prepping.

I have to take a little encouragement. He the 41st vote that could allow us to stop the madness of nationalized healthcare, Cap and Tax, Card Check, and some of the other nonsense. But 41 isn't always going to be enough.

Howver, we must remember that he's an R in a very blue state. What's the track record been for Reupblicans from that part of the country? Pretty bad.

I had some thoughts similar to Codrea's when I heard some of Brown's comments today. Uh, Senator-Elect, where's The Constitution fit into all this? If it's good for his state then he's okay with it. Well, then I guess when they go to reconciliation, Harry Reid will have to open the checkbook back up for the Massachusetts purchase, right? Brown established the principle, now we're just talking price.

The best news here is that Brown may not be a real big victory for Patriots and constitutionalists, but it's a real big loss for for the freight-train of Marxist legislation.

Part of the good news here is that this election shows how many have finally recognized Barry for the empty-suit, narcissistic, Marxist poser that we've know he was all along. Make no mistake, he campaigned for 3 losers recently.

This Rep. victory in Liberal Hell bodes ill for Dems in the Fall. However, lots can happen between then and now.

It will take perhaps generations to undo the damage that the Progressive agenda has done. Two areas specially are Federally controlled education, and entitlements. Local control over teaching our children must be returned, and institutionalised and generational welfare must be stopped. As long as the enemy controls those, there will always be a large dependent underclass that will vote to steal our money.
