If the Chinese believe we have well and truly screwed them by selling them billions and billions of worthless debt, I fully expect to see them physically punish us as a warning to the rest of the world. For example, if the EMP effects of high-altitude airburst atomic weapons have the detrimental effects of electronics that they are reputed to have, then airburst nukes from Boston to Atlanta would revert the eastern seaboard to an early-18th-century level of existence with no immediate loss of life. Would be a helluva warning to the rest of the world.
