"'We live in a free country, and you can’t regulate everything, but common sense should tell you something that can easily be mistaken for a weapon shouldn’t be sold — and people shouldn’t buy it,' said Burlington police Lt. Glen Mills."
Christ, what a little judy-boy worm. At least he's a fucking moron, to boot.
Try it like this, Mills, you sodden little fop: the average American could walk right now out to his garage and, without even trying, lay hands on a device which could be a weapon, but would not be understood as such until a moment of attack. Just about anyone could beat your chimpanzee brain out with a snow shovel, and I'd give a lot to see the look on your face then.
"Doh! It didn't look like a weapon!"
You're a goddamned vegetable, and a soul-deep disgrace to a once honorable endeavor.
"Disappear, scumbag!" (the D.I. -- "Full Metal Jacket")
Billy Beck at his best.
ReplyDeleteI usually enjoy Billy, but here I'm left wondering exactly when in American history it was an honorable profession.
ReplyDeleteHigh time everyone re-reads "Are Cops Constitutional" if you ask me...
I thought the if-it-can-be-a-weapon-it-is crap was something only public schools used...oh wait...where were these guys educated?
ReplyDeleteAnd "Billy" Beck IS that dopiest person. Couldn't you guys find a drunken hobo with a blog? I'm sure it wouldn't be much worse than the drivel "Billy" constantly churns out...
ReplyDeleteIn certain limited cases (Treasury, for one - anti-counterfeiting) Federal cops are Constitutional -- obviously an overwhelming majority of our current jackboot-brigade are not.
ReplyDeleteState/local cops? I don't believe the Fed.Con has any say in the matter.
That said, I think Billy's right. I can just picture this in my mind -- some half-wit female (with or without the requisite plumbing) saw this geek with his "samurai-umbrella" slung over his shoulder and panicked - calling the donut-warriors who also panicked, and caused a mall full of sheep to... panic as well.
It would be HYSTERICAL if it wasn't so damn sad...
That said, I think I'm going to have to order one of those!

It might also be worth noting this side story from the link:

Hopefully the folks who were suggesting that you leave your wireless network unsecured so that FreeFor could access it will read this and understand. While this was ONE of the two scenarios I laid out the other day (the other was an illegal drug deal), I am not now nor have I recently been within 500 miles of where this took place.
The takeaway? Until the filthy pigs who DO these raids rot where they belong, encrypt your wireless if you use one.
fireplaceguy: When cops stopped being peace officers and started being police officers(enforcing political laws), then it ceased being an honorable profession. And, as long as they continue to swim around the fringes of the bait ball, picking us off one or two at a time, there will be no reaction. I still fume over that post involving the horrific actions of the Columbia, MO swat team. That has been what, over a year ago? What is it going to take? All I can do is watch, train, prepare, and wait for the right time. My hope is someone out there will someday light the fuse.
ReplyDeleteCandidates for the Darwin Award certainly show themselves in a myriad of creative ways...
ReplyDeleteThe beauty of this fop (member, pun intended) is that he'll do himself in, in due time.
Bob Katt
I'd like to have Beck's gift for insult and disgust.
ReplyDeleteYou could cut it with a knife.

I like his stuff and his commentaries are spot on.
ReplyDeleteThe car in the garage is a much better weapon.
