Father, Do Not Forgive Them. They Know Damn Well What They Do.

Vanderleun explains.

What most good people fail to acknowledge is that evil works - at least for some and for some time.

Bad people who are part of the "some" accept that fact.

They also view as weakness such practices as mercy, compassion, love, and charity.

What's happening is not an accident or a product of ineptitude.

It is by design.

It is intentional.

And it is working.

Resist.

  1. "Mikaru ['white eyes,' or Westerners] are much like cattle," a Sherpa women told me in Namche as we discussed the Sherpa's success in the tourism industry. "They are happy wandering about aimlessly all day long ..., they are constantly getting sick ..., and you have to lead them by the nose over difficult terrain or they'll fall off the trail...
But if you feed them well, they'll produce a lot of rich milk for you."

I can only suspect that it was out of respect that the old Sherpa women refrained from extending the metaphor to the quality of the meat, or the ease by which it was harvested.
