Con-Con Con, Encore

The gullible and the Evil are beginning to pound the drums once again for a new Constitutional Convention.

Very, very bad idea.

Do you really think this idea is arising spontaneously?

Do you really think the FreeFor could operate effectively in opposition to the collectivists in a Con-Con environment?

On what factual basis do you believe that?

Some background on the convention process here:

Part I

Part II

Part III

Phyllis Schlafly opines on this topic, but Matt Bracken gets the last word.

Read the excerpt from his third novel and ask yourself Lenin's question:

Who, whom?

***
...Marx's emphasis on class conflict provided Lenin with an easy category for identifying his enemies. Also, Marxism was posited on the ideas of a single absolute truth, the predestined victory of the cause, and the fallibility and expendability of the individual. Therefore it lent itself to the suppression of dissenters and vidual. Therefore it lent itself to the suppression of dissenters and the extermination of opponents. Lenin, with his knack for hortatory pungency, reduced the past and future alike to two pronouns and a question mark: "Who—whom?" No verb was necessary. It meant who would prevail over whom? And the question was largely rhetorical, implying that the answer was never in doubt. Lenin and those who followed him would prevail over "them," whoever they were...

Hint: On current course and speed, you are "them".

  1. Let's insist they actually follow it before going and changing it.

Why bother with it if its just words on a paper?

  2. I stand by my call: We must not violate the Constitution to save the Constitution. But that is not a suicide pact.

A Constitutional Convention, called by those who refuse to abide it as it exists today, would be void of moral authority.

Change one syllable, one punctuation mark, of the original that you have failed to respect, and every pretense is gone, every restraint upon moral men abandoned.

This would be how one starts a war in America. Total War.

There is not one among us to stand in the shoes of Jefferson, or a Franklin...much less a Jefferson and a Franklin.

    Call the Convention.

    I'll be there.

    Count on it.

  3. This is getting around now. Pete, you have no doubt seen the chain email you were copied on.

This is ridiculous. Does anyone think George Washington is going to rise from the dead to run it?

Obama, Boehner and Reid will run it, and if anyone trusts them with their liberties I will be flabbergasted.

  4. A Con-con would instantly propel Bracken to near-prophet status.

Who wants to put money on the Dead Elephants standing strong for liberty?

    *crickets*

    Didn't think so.

  5. Spot on. You really want the annoited 52% deciding your future? The Game is Rigged folks, quit wasting your energy and time playing it. Those votes, letters to congressmen and "rallies" aren't going to change anything. Instead, get your crap and your act and your group in order. Water, food, ammo, networks. You know the drill.

  8. Kerodin writes: "A Constitutional Convention, called by those who refuse to abide it as it exists today, would be void of moral authority."

Why would a new constitution be void of moral authority? The last Constitutional Convention was called by those who refused to abide by the Articles of Confederation as it existed then.

Jefferson and Franklin were statist thugs, and they knew it. The detail and scope of the anti-federalist papers dispels any claim they were ignorant of the political implications of what they were doing. Their sales pitch was for "a government of more energy" -- a more energetic government. And that's just what they designed.

  9. Anon @ 4:15

Jefferson wasn't even in the country at the time - It was Hamilton that came in and ran the whole damn show (with Madisons help). Jefferson and Hamilton were bitter (political) enemies. Hamilton at one time even called for a Monarchy. Not to mention that he was the European BANKERS best friend.--- Get your facts straight.
