More Surplus, Faster, Please

Mike and David have been all over the BATFE's role in delaying the return of Garands, M1 Carbines, and 1911A1 pistols from Korea for eventual sale through the CMP.

  2. According to my virus scanner, the CMP website places a tracking cookie on your computer. Someone is keeping records of where you go.

  3. Why would the US government allow more weapons to be imported here when the US State Dept continues to promote the destruction of small in other countries? Maybe I need to write about that...

  4. The BATFE's paper is babbling and incoherent. They say they can't import the M1s because it will lower the cost? Since when does the government care about that? They can't import them because with a handful of parts a skilled machinist and gunsmith can make them full-auto? Srsly? That's the best they've got? Can't a skilled machinist and gunsmith make anything - up to and including a doorknob - fully auto?

It looks like someone higher up said, "No, you can't allow the import. Now go make me up a reason."
