Beck: Notes On A Desperate Futility

From Billy Beck:
I was quoted, and then asked...
"We will not be voting our way out of this, ladies and gentlemen. This November doesn't matter."
Would you condense your argument for this proposition into a post on here? I would like to understand your reasoning. I don't necessarily disagree - not as far along this trail as you - but I know you have explained this in a number of places.
Principally, it's an ethical issue, with several components.

In his book, "The Machinery of Freedom", David Friedman tells the tale of two economists, standing in front of the window at the Maserati dealership and drooling over some hot convertible. The first economist gasps, "I really want one of those."

The second economist looks him up and down, observes him not doing anything about it, and says, "Obviously not."

"Values" are things (material or conceptual, bear in mind) for which we act in order to gain or keep. Here's my own variation on the point of David's joke: I often hear people tell me that they would like to play the guitar. That never impresses me. What impresses me is someone who sits down with his axe at least an hour every day and sometimes four or six hours. That person is taking the value of playing seriously enough to act for it.

Freedom doesn't even have a place in the prevailing intellectual framework of this country right now, so it's not terribly surprising that it's not a value, either. Most people don't even know what it is, much less how to act for it.

The problem is compounded in the fact that more and more people in this country are in fact voting for a living. They would no more act for freedom than cut their own throats. (This is the vanishing American conscience to which to appeal with principled civil disobedience: that window is closing.)

This is a decadent democracy, which must be the route of all democracies. Elsewhere, I have been informed that the importance of this November is in things like preventing cap and trade, repealing the medical commissariat, etc. None of that will be good enough: it addresses none of the endemic rot that has brought us to these straits. (e.g. -- the destruction of medicine in this country has been in {cough} "progress" for at least a half-century, and the consequences of all that are things like HMO's and older people working for nothing but health-care; all the conditions driving the hue & cry for more government action.) The Department of Education keeps turning out morons, etc.

In brief; the problems that must be solved before this culture is driven inexorably to its knees -- and beyond -- are the products of democracy. Their increasing prominence into crisis cannot be halted by the long process of democratic and legislative accretion that got us here. This is a trap, in the same way that a spelunker can very nicely get himself down into a crack that he cannot get up and out of.

Reagan didn't matter. (We had that moron Francis Fukuyama screeching his completely ridiculous bullshit, after that.)

Newt Gingrich and his clowns didn't matter in 1994.

This November is not going to stop any of this.

"All voting is a sort of gaming, like checkers or backgammon, with a slight moral tinge to it, a playing with right and wrong, with moral questions; and betting naturally accompanies it. The character of the voters is not staked. I cast my vote, perchance, as I think right; but I am not vitally concerned that that right should prevail. I am willing to leave it to the majority. Its obligation, therefore, never exceeds that of expediency. Even voting for the right is doing nothing for it. It is only expressing to men feebly your desire that it should prevail. A wise man will not leave the right to the mercy of chance, nor wish it to prevail through the power of the majority."
(Henry David Thoreau -- "Civil Disobedience", emphases original)

None of this will stop unless and until enough people in this country stop committing their productivity to it. As long as what we produce is taken from us and disposed as the looters wish, it will go on.

It's about the principles, Randell, and they're all wrong. It's that simple. Elections do not address any of that.

This one won't, either.

    Bravo!!! Billy Beck....Bravo!!!
that is at the heart of the matter.

I stopped voting after Bill Clinton was re-elected. My thinking was that from "I didn't inhale" to Waco and everything in between, if the American people are so fucking stupid as to re-elect the likes of that whore, then they deserve what ever befalls them.

It was at that same time, post Waco, that I made a stand and challenged the jurisdiction of the I.R.S. over me, my labor, my productivity, my life, my property, my liberty. In an affidavit witnessed by 2 and notarized, I respectfully demanded any finding of fact or evidence at law that contradicted my claim that there is no law that requires an individual to file or pay the so called "FEDERAL INCOME TAX". I sent it all, certified mail to 28 individuals in government. The list of recipients included; the The Attorneys General for my state of residence and the United States (Janet Reno), the state representative from the district in which I lived, the Congressional representative and Senator, the Secretary of the Treasury (Robert Rubin), the Sec. of Commerce (Ron Brown), Social Security Director (Margret Milner Richardson), IRS Commissioner (Shirley Chater), FBI Director (Louis Free)and the IRS District Director.

Not one of the recipients ever responded! Nothing!!! Not even a note to say I was a loon.

What does this say about "representative government"?

As an old Friend used to say: "I knocked on the door of the Republic and discovered there was no one home".

  2. To follow up on my previous comment:

I believe the one thing that could stop the beast dead in its tracks, without bloodshed is massive non-compliance, refusal to pay and support this shameless pack of looters.

I do not mean to fudge or cheat on your taxes. I mean out and out stop paying the so called "Federal Income Tax". It has its roots in the hell of Marxism and serves only to further enslave and divide us as a people.

Billy Beck is absolutely correct. We will not vote our way out of this mess.

  3. "The best way to uphold the Constitution is to burn it, for it has long since become a mockery of itself; its authors would tolerate no such fate. Your enemies believe in naked power. When they croak the Constitution at you, answer them with a gun butt to the jaw. It is their own secret language, which they understand perfectly." M. Moldbug

  5. Mr. Beck, as usual, is quite right in his succinct evaluation of the upcoming elections.

Democracy is mod rule with enforement via government guns.

For example, taxes. They're theft under color of law. Don't pay them, government thugs come to your home and steal your stuff and, if you resist, kill you and your family.

We will not vote our way out of the coming collapse, it is the result of the Keynesian economic policies which began in the 1930's. Yes, we are at the sharp end of 80 years of cluster fornications.

Progressive thugs claim that capitalism has failed. Of course, what has failed is their fascist, aka merchantilist, policies which are even remotely capitalist. The British practiced merchantilism for centuries, take a look at where they are on the fascist continuum. The most video surveillance on the planet.

Building institutions that shield us from the US government is our only hope.

Time is running out for those activities.

  6. The upcoming elections will be a joke. For instance, here in the 3rd Congressional District of Pennsylvania, it appears the incumbent Democrat is going to be ousted by the Republican challenger, a used car salesman named Mike Kelly. Kelly was provided a survey by a large western PA firearms organization. Well, Mr. Kelly returned three copies of the survey to the organization sending the surveys. Lo and Behold, not one of the surveys were in the same handwriting. A phone call to his campaign HQs revealed by one of his staffers, that survey questions unanswered were blank because "I didn't know how to answer them." The freakin' staffer was answering a firearms survey intended for the candidate ! Imagine that. Yet Republican Congressional candidate Mike Kelly returned the surveys appearing that he, himself, completed them. You be the judge !

The moral of my story....the Republicans will NOT be part of the solution. Rather they are part of the problem. The difference between 'Pub and Dem is about the same as the difference between Coke and Pepsi.

We're in DEEP, DEEP SHIT !

  7. Go ahead. Vote.

First find a candidate that will not spit on his oath of office--if you can. Find a candidate that regards you personally as something more than the standard dirt bag--if you can.

Else you have wasted your vote.

  9. No vote is worthless.

It's when they are made meaningless that we have a problem.

Votes are meaningless when they are ignored.

Votes are meaningless when an illegal voter, imported into this country, cancels your's out.

Votes are meaningless when bought at the price of the truth and the welfare and safety of a nation and it's people.

Votes are meaningless when politicians lie to your face and a corupt, Marxist, news media backs them up.

Votes are meaningless when the government schools your children to believe the exact opposite of your beliefs and they can't manage to do simple math and their history books condemn the country of their birth.

Votes are not meaningless when those who have done these things begin to look over their shoulder and wonder about their safety.

Votes are not meaningless when they realize that they aren't safe and everyone knows who they are and what they've done.
