Fjordman: A Few Reasons For Cautious Optimism

Read Fjordman's latest at Gates of Vienna.

For my money, things need to get worse and stay worse for a while longer.

Let's revisit the issue on the autmnal equinox, 2011.

And a quick postscript for those who think the Koran, sharia, and Islam are irrelevant in the USA:

Why do folks believe that a tiny number of individuals with no funding and no track record can re-establish the Constitution (or even more improbably, individual freedom) in this country, yet categorically reject the notion that a similarly-tiny number of individuals with much better funding and a proven track record of "by any means necessary" tactics could not establish their doctrinal creed as the nation's highest law?

Think about the question for a while.

Over the CRUSADES. And WE'RE supposed to "get over" 9/11/2001...
Even if only 1% of the supposed 1.5 billion Muslims are "radicals," that's still ... what, 150 million?

  2. Pete, the muslims in FRANCE don't matter here in America.

The 18 mosques that we have in South Carolina DO MATTER.

The rest of you had better find out where they are in your AO.

  3. Amen, Pat.

    I understand your point now.

The burqa photo was for effect, and was not intended to obscure the central point.

  4. For PAT H. I am so glad to hear that the 18 mosques in your area were built to be fireproof. It is so reassuring to know that when some Good-Old-Boy decides to burn one of those Korans (aren't worth a crap as toilet paper since are not printed on absorbent paper) that the resulting bonfire from that burning Koran doesn't catch the rest of that over sized outhouse on fire. Learned long ago that Kerosene burns by "wicking" which means that the cloth worn by some Human Candles with eye slits will quickly become toasty warm. Have a good Halloween since it's coming next month.

  5. The question in bold assumes the two creeds are equally attractive to the average Westerner so the outcome depends purely on the competition between minorities; but the creeds aren't equally attractive.

  6. CA:

I concur that America needs to feel a little more uncomfortable economically before they wake up.

Sorry there is no such thing as an "Autumn Solstice". I think you meant Autumnal Equinox.

Question: Who let the millions of Muslims into America? Answer: the corrupt, lying, elites, who are ruining America by design.

Bring the troops home...from all 184 bases they currently operate in the name of American hegemony.

No I don't like the Muslims here or there. They are backward and barbaric. Perhaps if Uncle Sugar were not meddling in the affairs of so many other countries we could attend to the problems here at home and there would be less likelihood of the Islamists looking to cause us harm.

  7. I don't believe the first small group will succeed WITH the government that we have standing in the way.

I don't believe the second small group will succeed WITHOUT the government we have standing in OUR way.
