The ballot for US government elections is a complete waste of time.
I do, however, think that the act of voting in state elections has some life left in it, and county and town elections are important, for a while longer at least.
OK, I see what your saying, can you tell me what we can do about it besides Armed Revolution.Or do just wait for it all to come crumbling down and rebuild from there, and what would make what is rebuilt from what we have left any better than what we have now.
Everybody points to the Problems, PLEASE show me some Solutions. If there aren't any what do we/you/I do about it.
Seriously, I would hope that Someone can come up with an idea. I've racked my brain about the many problems and I see no solutions that could be implemented in a democratic Republic.

Please, just an idea or two.I'm lost as to what to do anymore.
Identification before voting! Legal residency should be required before voting. How much simpler can it get? Ya gotta show an I.D. before giving a check at Walmart for chrise-sake, pull out yer wallet and show a drivers liscense, ss card, or state I.D. if ya can't do that, then ya don't get to vote! No bias. That's just the way it is. Dang, what is the matter with Americans, have we lost all of our pride in country? I'm sick of it, and I imagine millions more like me are sick of it. As I've said many times before, "put off the inevitable and it will only be worse when the inevitable happens." texred
The future is simple: the gummint pays half of us to dig holes, the other half to fill them. Anyone who has a problem with that will also fill a hole. Once.
Add to government employees the percentage of folks who are "net beneficiaries" (as opposed to net tax payers), and the ballot box virtually guarantees growth in the size and scope of government.
What better hope do we really have than for this downward spiral to pick up speed and continue?
As far as I am concerned, let's get this party started,...and ended.
Trying to use the ballot box to fix it will, at best, turn large moves into baby steps. We already know where we are going. The longer we prolong this, the more miserable we will all be, for longer.
I say let the Kenyan get elected again. Let the masses vote us into further debt. Let the moonbats reap what they sow. For all of us here, the sooner things get worse, the better.
Furthermore, I don't want my kids to have to deal with this.
This is OUR obligation and OUR duty, NOW. Free men can deal with this now, or men in chains can dream about it 200 years from now.
Pete/Daniel: and these figures also don't include the countless "contractors" who do .gov work day-to-day but whose check is cut by a third-party "consulting" or "staffing" company.
Anon@2:01: Forcing people to show ID - or prove they live in the district - is abusive to minorities doncha-know.
"Sure - EVERYONE would have to show ID, but *NOT* everyone has an aversion to authority borne of 400 years of slavery. A disproportionate number of minority-folk don't have ID to show - and even those who do would be intimidated by having to show it and would stay home and not vote.
Look: it's a black-thing. you wouldn't understand..."
^^The aforegoing^^ is what was said to me when I brought this up on a board a couple of years ago. I may not have the first paragraph 100% verbatim, but the last statement is EXACTLY as it was put to me.
Putting all that aside for a moment, here's the TRUTH: We *KNOW* - it's been PROVEN - that ACORN and others would go around and register all sorts of people who otherwise never would.
Then they'd round up a bunch of homeless or indigent, put them all on a bus, and roll from district to district, paying these people to vote multiple times under various identities.
We *KNOW* this happened! The *ONLY* way to stop it is to demand ID before voting - which is why it will never happen.
Dennis: Even if we were able to 100% clean house, and get rid of every single elected official in Sodom-on-the-Potomac, the unelected bureaucrats would remain.
As "Gunwalker" has shown us, the Unelected are MUCH more danger to our Republic than are our "elected representatives."
Like you, I just don't see how it can be fixed without ...well... you know.
That wise political philosopher Dr. Seuss summed it up about as well as can be: This mess is so big, So great, and so tall, There's no way to fix it! There's no way at all!"
OK, this' gonna raise some ire and lotsa shit for me... How about we get passed a law that "only real property owners are allowed to vote- bring in property tax forms and proper ID"? Ain't gonna happen, but was suggested once, about... oh, 236 years ago. Shy III

ReplyDeleteWhile I understand your frustration it is important to point out the fallacy of your proposed solution.
#1-- There is no requirement to have a SS# to live or work in the U.S. The system is "voluntary".
#2-- People who are not citizens can obtain a DL with no problem. Hence we had the massive fraud that is "motor-voter".
