  1. My input. You asked for it. I only ask for input in return.

I concur that it is amazing how long the PTB have been able to prop up this house of cards but they do have a lot of things in their favor; media/propaganda, ignorance due to poor education and distractions like tech gadgetry, sports, porn, etc. and fear. Having said that, it is clear to anyone with eyes to see, that collapse is imminent....when is really up to a lot of variables beyond anyone's control. So continue preps and part of that includes teaching the next generation the truth.

No doubt it will take more than guns and a stash of gold/silver to carry you/me/us through but they will have their place as key elements in the restoration.
The larger picture will involve community (however you define that). It could be through ones church or work connection, or it could be family and extended family. Also consider certain fraternal orders among the membership who have prepared for this coming down-turn. Geographic areas populated by like minded and right thinking folks will fair better than other areas who did not prepare. From those communities there will, no doubt, spring forward survivors who understand how to foster rebirth of order. It will be messy in the beginning though.

A side note about the Mormons. For a long time I held a certain level of respect for their preparedness mindset (not their kooky religious views) until I learned that their mandate to save a one year supply of food stuff for every family member was actually designed to be collected by the church elders in time of crisis only to be redistributed to the needy and deserving! Shocking and pathetic so don't count on them being in the game after the crash/collapse.
Resolve is another key element and it has to do with a mindset and that comes from awareness and preparedness. It will be necessary to survive the initial predations of those who did not prepare but think they will roam and pillage to survive.

To address the poster TequilaKid, and his position that the theses is "patently fraudulent" is laughable to anyone who has been paying attention! I think it was rebuffed thoroughly and tactfully by the author.

I suspect that TEOTWAWKI has already come to pass or is in process. Yes, the world will still rotate on its axis and the sun, moon and stars will still be there but it will not be life as we know it and it will be a period of rebirth and redirection for those who survive and know how to rebuild civilization....everyone else will likely be purged.

  2. He talks about the survival of communities, and I don't see that as a reality.
I live in a very small town (1,100) and I just can't see 3-5 people here agreeing on anything. We are so fragmented in this nation that every person seems to see themselves as their own special interest group.
Now if Fox News or CNN were to TELL people what to do, they would go along with that. It came from some source of 'higher' power, never mind where. But if some local tried to get them to organize for the good of the group, the arguing would never end.
This nation has come together and survived many severe obstacles in the past, but this me,me,me thinking will be our undoing. I really don't think we'll save ourselves. Besides, most humans today have zero survival skills outside of dialing a cell phone.

  3. I agree that western civilization is headed for a crash. So why is the Baron at Gates of Vienna so worried about rebuilding what didn't work? Central control, somebody holding the reins of power, no matter how those people are selected, is what caused this problem. It'll just happen again unless we eliminate the concept of imposed authority. Forever.

Kick out the old boss. Don't hire a new boss.

  4. "If we don’t devise the Shadow, then when the time comes we will be faced with our own white-bread version of Somalia, the War of All Against All within Western culture."

He's just proven that Americans couldn't have "won the West", because when wagon trains traveled beyond the reach of LEOs from St. Louis they melted down into a zombie feeding fest. A minimum requirement of any theory-of-less-government is to be consistent with actual American history.

    "1. Civil administration
    2. Education (primary, secondary, and post-secondary)
    3. The media and mass communications
    4. Manufacturing and commerce
    5. Legislative bodies
    6. Law enforcement
    7. The military
    "

All but 4 are currently government functions. He wants a shadow government. He sounds like the American founders, who wanted to keep the British aristocracy system intact but with them as the aristocrats.

  5. Consider also the Ten Commandments. The 'don't steal' and 'don't covet' parts are nice, but the 'I am your top God' part is the most totalitarian idea the human species has yet invented. What performance should we expect from a creed that incorporates both extreme totalitarianism and extreme libertarianism? We should expect 2,000 years of moral confusion.
