A Perfect Metaphor For The USA

Go read this post at The Cliffs of Insanity; sample below:

...We are texting and walking through the mall. We are so absorbed in ourselves, our toys, our tech, our own little world that we neglect even the most fundamental of tasks. It never occurs to us that something may be ahead of us. That the smooth, level walking surface may change. Or that anything might change...

Alvie, like Billy Beck, gets the Endarkenment. Do you?

As a friend wrote recently:

We can't prevent it. We can only survive it.

Which way are you facing?

Too much so, and well put with few words.

  2. I read somewhere that the woman who fell into the pool is suing the mall. Maybe she should bring suit against the ipod/cellphone company too.

Isn't that very typical of modern America as well? None of what has happened, is happening, or is about to happen could possibly be our own fault.

  3. Such conduct has been going on for decades. It started in the late seventies when the great unwashed got their first WALKMAN and started aimlessly going about their days with the earphones in. The PTB recognized this and capitalized on it. Witness the antics of the Clintons.
America has been hopelessly dumbed down and there is no turning back. When the economy finally does implode, these brain-dead texters will turn on those of us who have been prudent enough to prepare for hard times.
Have a plan, people. Very few will escape what is going to happen.

Judgment Day is inevitable. You did not stop it; you only postponed it.
