I'm with you all the way Tom. Palin, Beck, and Fox News are just the tip of what so many patriots see as our saviors. They're fukin con artists as low and slimey as Obama and Bernanke. And most people don't care to wake up and see what's coming next. They WANT to be led astray by whoever has the highest ratings this week on TV. Look up Palin and who she now supports. More of the NWO pukes. I have no idea how to wake up the masses, they truly don't care to see the light. Even here, too many of the folks get their education from Fox News rather than studying for themselves.
Sounds like (long-winded) Baugh has figured out what we trads have known for a couple of years: Sarah Palin cares first and foremost about the political power and wealth of Sarah Palin. I have to hand it to her, she's done a fantastic job of not only increasing both but convincing large numbers of Americans that she's a conservative to boot. I had hoped that she would vanish after the elections, but there are simply too many suckers who believe in her, as Baugh once did. Alas.
But Baugh seems to be making the same mistake all over again in the very same column. The enemy of my enemy is not my friend, and Baugh seriously misconstrues Assange's motives. Remember that Wikileaks was utterly silent regarding the leaked Climategate emails. That organization also leaked the names and home addresses of members of the British National Party (not once, but twice). Assange cherry-picked what he leaked based on his own leftist rationale rather than for the sake of transparency or principle. Like Palin, Assange's crusade is really all about himself.
I instantly lost any regard for Palin the moment she quit her job as Governor. Baugh is absolutely correct in his assessment of Sarah Palin. He is also absolutely correct when he says: "the only champions we need are those we see in the mirror." Your faith should be in God, your family, and your rifle - nothing more. (In my humble opinion)
I've had some reservations about Tom Baugh in the past. I didn't think too highly of his "Starving the Monkeys" essay and reserved judgement on the rest of his stuff. This, however is - IMNSHO - little more than RINO fodder and not worthy of publication in any conservative blog.
Each point he brings up has been refudiated time and time again, indicating - to me at least - that he has been drinking RINO Kool-aid by the pitcher-full. I don't follow Democratic Underground nor do I peruse The Daily Kos and from here on I will refrain from reading anythin with his name on it - headstones excepted, of course.
Anyone who believes Sarah Palin to be a conservative "champion" has not examined her tax and spend policies while she was mayor of Wasilla and then governess (sic) of Alaska.
Sarah Palin is not a fiscal conservative and her social conservatism is equally suspect.
It is more accurate to call her a populist, but this is not to say that she has no value to fiscal and social conservatives.
She is a good fund raiser and her efforts often go to support candidates who are more conservative than their opponents. As such, she is marginally superior to Republicans such as George Bush, John McCain and Mike Castle.
I believe her to be more of a worry to the puppet masters than their willing tool, as Baugh seems to suggest. He has misjudged her once; he may be wrong again now.
The opposite-of-Obama "solution" for 2012. Not male, Muslim or metrosexual. She'll fool a lot of people. If she were a REAL "rogue," she'd be sitting out in the hall with Ron Paul while the popular kids plan the prom. Those old enough to remember a certain down-to-earth Baptist good ole boy Georgia peanut farmer named Jimmy Carter are forewarned. And that Arkansas faux bubba. Fool me THREE times...
I have not read STM so maybe I am misjudging Mr. Baugh however I think he is a little too much caught up in the "international banking conspiracy" meme. He seems to imply that we should be throwing away our political system because the founding fathers were simply part of this IBC. Sorry I dont buy that. The founders gave us a framework I am not saying they are saints but it was us who allowed any IBC (if it exists) to usurp that framework. I dont recall the founders saying anything about how the work was finished. I seem to recall them saying that it was our duty to keep the work going and that we had to always guard our freedoms and such. Baugh is right that we cannot place unquestionable faith in leadership. Leadership is about trust not faith. Faith is emotional and unseen. Trust is earned through action. I am not ready to dismiss Mr Baugh completly and will continue to read his work however typically when someone speaks of the "International Banking Conspiracy" there can be present a hint of anti-semetism. That would not completly taint his work for me but it would make me suspect of his motivations.
I suspect that Baugh is using a rhetorical device here. To your point, Oldfart, he appears to be saying, "Oh, I'm just like you, a regular conservative, and look what I'm seeing, isn't that shocking?"
This is a fairly common and effective ploy in political writing - the "wake up with confession of being played" - and is targeted at the unconverted rather than "us."
Interesting that Baugh allows himself an "oopsie", but doesn't permit the same of Beck regarding TARP. Not that Beck is but half right in his assessments, just think that the same allowance should be extended to Beck as to Baugh for repudiating mistakes made.
Tragically, Palin was the most qualified candidate among biden/obama/mccain/palin. I supported none of them. Palin lost all respect after endorsing mccain for senator.
Baugh is Baugh and he has a right to his opinions, as do each and every one of us. Any of us can be swayed to support or shun Sarah by what we perceive from her past actions. Her resignation of the office of Governor is tossed around with disdain as an example of her poor judgment. Her subsequent books and speaking tours are denigrated as just another money-grubbing ploy. The unplanned pregnancy of her daughter and her own decision to bring a special-needs into the world child just adds frosting on the cake the earlier claims has baked. Let’s face it folks: She’s different than all the other politicians out there. In fact, we (I’m including nearly all Americans here, especially those elite beltway politicians we’ve depended on all these years for our opinions) have spent so much time and energy picking out her flaws that we can’t see her good points. We are so used to politicians becoming millionaires after getting into office that we hardly notice that fact. When we get someone who actually works for a living, who has a moderately normal family – with the accompanying faults that entails, we find ourselves thinking less of that politician than of one who fits into the Washington society with never a ripple. We tell ourselves we want someone different than whoever is in there now, yet not too different. We want someone who will shake up the ‘Good ‘ol Boys Club’ , but not too much. We want someone to save America, but it has to be done the proper way. We want someone popular enough to set the electorate on fire but not burn the fences around our personal comfort zones. A person like that is always ‘out there’ just waiting for us to convince him to lead us. Let me count the names: Pence, Barbour, Christie, Romney, Huckabee, Gingrich, ________, _________, (add your own here.) Just not Palin. Why? Well, because she can’t be elected, of course. Everyone knows that! Even Karl Rove. And don’t forget good old Charlie Krauthammer. He knows so much more than we do so we need to listen to him. /sarc. Has anyone ever studied the lives of the founders? I mean that part of their lives that wasn’t taken up with legislating or fighting the British? They had private lives too and they made mistakes that – had television been around – would have had them ostracized if not burnt at the stake! They were humans just like me and you and – dare I say it – like Sarah too. We revere them as “Patriots.” We like to call ourselves by that name too. Why is Sarah a money-grubbing quitter? Not in my book. To me she’s a Patriot. Not only that but she’s prettier than any of her detractors and smells better too. Present company included.
oldfart, can't argue with that logic. Let's all vote Palin 2012. We'll just forget who she really represents. I too want a patriotic President that smells good.
Typical Baugh. First we read through his history. (Maybe he really needs to establish his back story every time he writes something?) After he is done spanking his monkey the Monkey handler gets to his purpose for writing. eventually.
Sometime about 9 paragraphs from the start.
The man whom Praises Ross "The republicans are mean to me so I will wimp out and betray my followers" Perot, so often in his monkey book.
Now has the blatant Hypocrisy to get on the case of Palin for resigning because of frivolous ethics complaints filed against her by Liberals, and the cost of same?
Or Beck for not being ideologically pure, crafted in Baugh's image?
I'm with you all the way Tom.

ReplyDeleteThat was refreshing to read someone who can actually own up to the fact they have been had.
ReplyDeletePalin, Beck, and their ilk are tools. We are truly on our own.....I hope I don't have to eat my words RE: Ron Paul! hahaha.

P.S. I do not necessarily think Sarah would be the next great thing... nor anyone else either.
We need to cease believing in, waiting and hoping for the "Next Great Leader." In that, at least, I agree with Baugh.
Be a leader... learn to lead by example.
