Fibbies, Git Your Guns

Virgil Caine at Washington Rebel riffs off this bit of chatter on the gun boards.

I am sure that the $97 million in taxpayer-funded 5.56 ammo will be used by the FBI as they investigate the rampant, multi-hundred billion dollar fraud schemes in the mortgage and mortgage-backed securities industries.

That's why the Feebs ordered the rounds on strippers, per the 5/7/10 Revised Statement of Work:

10.1 The ammunition shall be packaged in Mil-Spec packaging (stripper clips with 2 magazine loading guides per case, packed in cardboard sleeves). Case size of 1,000 rounds per case is preferred.

The investment banker crowd is ruthless, and known to be incredibly fast on tactical reloads and other skills in the CQB toolbox.

Really.

A fusion center told me so.

  2. Sadly, all I read at M4Carbine, were comments applauding this civilian agency of the Leviathan, the Behemoth, the FBI, purchasing 5.56mm in quantities and bandoleers meant for military use.

Why does the FBI need 5.56mm ammo in bandoleers on stripper clips ? Do any of the clowns at the posted website understand this is a Federal law enforcement agency responsible for DOMESTIC law enforcement ?

The Feds are getting ready for some domestic fireworks.

  3. Ordering ammo on stripper clips with guides means that the ammo is more expensive. The reason you need strippers is that you expect to have to reload magazines in the field under pressure of enemy fire. Huh?

Without Legitimacy and the assistance of the American people, this will be insufficient. It does give a little insight about how Fed's view the people lately and in the future: Enemy & Livestock.

If this were ammo supplies designated WRM (war readiness material), no problem. Not only should they be on stripper clips, but packed in cloth bandoliers inside of waterproof recloseable cans. Distribute to regional armories and surplus out the old stuff to CMP/VFW/BSA/etc.

    Cheers.

  4. Am I doing something wrong here? I start with $97mil and divide that by say $150/case of 1000 - can't be much more then that for that quantity - and get ~650,000 cases of ammo. That has to be more then the entire out put of all the ammo companies in the country producing that caliber, not to mention the brass makers capabilities.

  5. Just like all of those shotguns the IRS bought and the .40 cal ammunition...

  6. Anon,

$150 per case? I doubt the fedgov will be paying below current wholesale market price for brass-case domestic 5.56 ammo. They're not buying wolf or silver bear to fill this order either.

However, even if paid at $500 per 1000 that's still a lot of ammo.

  7. With the legendary accuracy of our law enforcement, they'll need it all.

  8. $97 million worth of ammo @ roughly .30/rnd. is about 291 million rounds.
Since this is a govt. contract it may have been more expensive than that, but .30 is a good guess allowing for the strippers and such.
As someone else asked, why does an agency whose normal weapon is a sidearm need this quantity of rifle ammo?

  9. Looks like the FBI is trying to corner the 5.56mm domestic market.

I do note that their LEO forum is set to "private forum for law enforcement officers." Here's what they require: http://m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=9970

Other than that, there's definetly concern about the "health care" provisions about signing 1099 forms for purchases about $600 and firearms reporting requirements but the tone is either I'll buy my guns in the next year or weasel a way around it.

Wanna bet those posters in the LEO only ones forum have a different agenda?

  10. CNSNews: "The Obama administration gave corporate giant General Electric—the parent company of NBC--$24.9 million in grants from the $787-billion economic “stimulus” law President Barack Obama signed in February 2009, according to records posted by the administration at Recovery.gov. Despite getting $24.9 million from U.S. taxpayers, GE decreased its U.S.-based employees by 18,000 in 2009, according to the company’s 2009 annual report. According to Standard & Poor's, GE took in $156 billion in revenue in 2009. GE was the primary recipient of 14 stimulus grants..."
O said he'd reward businesses that SAVED U.S. jobs.
Maybe this kind of thing is a reason the feds are up-arming. They can't hide it forever.

  11. Look, the ChiComs and Russkis are gonna need weapons when they come to the aid of the US government during the terrorist insurrection. Surely you don't expect any such conflict to last more than a few weeks without THEM offering their services, do you? And of course there are sufficient Perfumed Princes in the military to make that practical. Do understand that neither the Chinese nor the Russians are going to have ANY concerns about War Crimes. So either the Constitution is restored in a matter of weeks, or it's all over. MAKE SURE you clearly identify the Enemy before it starts.

  12. The M4carbine.net forum is for LEO's, to the point that one sub-forum is restricted to LEO's alone, and gun techno-geeks.

I've been a member for about a year.

It's a great place to gather intel, useless for pro-freedom issues. They don't see how much politics that is included in many of their posts. They're blind.

  13. Remember the 300 yard war?
If you carry 5.56, you need to step up to 7.62X51, or X54.
Why go into a fight on equal terms with the other side? Your life maybe on the line, a 50 50 chance is not good enough.
If we the people are smart, we will outrange them.
    End of Story.

  14. Just read some of the proposal and once the contract is awarded it will be open to 12 other Fed agencies to use to buy the ammo.

Looks like they are gearing up for major domestic ops. Need to troll the other proposals out there for associated equip (mags, optics, gear, etc.)

  16. For Anonymous at 4:47 AM:

You can't outrange them if they're at your doorstep. You have to take it to them where they are.

Of course, if they DO show up on your doorstep and you have one of THESE:
    http://www.buckstix.com/howitzer.htm
properly emplaced, you MAY have the advantage. Black powder WILL make a mess of your home, but the bad guys tend to cluster around the door prior to entry and...

Do note that owning one of these is apparently not illegal if one stays away from exploding shells.

  18. Looking for the fabled silver lining - I think it is considerate for them to have all this stuff packed and ready for the three per centers to seize. It will make transport and storage much easier for the threepers who use that caliber.
You think they could bundle up some 308 for the rest of us, and put them in plainly marked boxes? Syre woiuld be a time saver. And remember - the ammo belongs to the taxpayer who paid for it. So let's be thankful as we claim what is ours.
