Beck: No, Glenn

From Billy Beck:

"There are people who just can't get insurance. Maybe those are the people that we take care of with Medicare and Medicaid."

That was Glenn Beck, just now during his review of the goddamned Republicans' insufferably insulting "Pledge To America".

His daughter has cerebral palsy, you see, and he understands that this is something that no market insurance program would take on.

No, Glenn. You must understand: your daughter's difficulty is not a moral claim on my life. No matter what your problem is, you cannot steal from me or anyone else. You're going to have to face that all on your own. Now, once you do, then you might discover something that was true about Americans back before they learned to start pointing the guns of government at each others' heads, which is that they were the most privately generous people on earth. Yes; you might find that their charity would go far in such situations. It might not. In any case, it's the only recourse that you have.

You have no moral standing to authorize the taking of someone else's productivity for anything.

You should get your principles squared-away, Glenn, before you start talking about things like "freedom".

  1. I used to appreciate Beck and even had Dixie read one of his books for homeschool, but realized later that he was a fake.

  2. i too was astounded, but not surprised.... to hear him advocate for "medicaid" to take care of the special cases like that.... problem is.... there's 10's of millions of those "special" cases now and more each day, sucking the capital out of productive citizens and corporations..... Thanks Glenn Beck for muddying the water even more with your BS...

  3. Fake? I honestly don't think so.

I believe he's one of the few genuine good people in mass media.

He's no doubt misguided on a number of points, but I do believe he's sincere.

  4. Glenn Beck is officially a net loss for the forces of liberty.

  5. Beck, Limbaugh, and others like them are the voices of "let's keep it going just a little longer", instead of advocating the removal of most, if not all, of the US government.

That's what makes him so dangerous to real freedom.

Holding his D. C. rally in front of the Lincoln Memorial instead of the Jefferson Memorial should tell all where he's really coming from.

Lincoln wasn't about freedom and neither is Beck.

  6. Sadly, Billy Beck's brand of rugged individualism and self sufficiency is foreign to most Americans....I dare say it is even too strong for many readers of this blog.

That is how far we have fallen. There is always some justification (in most people's minds) for taking from the productive to give to, the less fortunate, the children, those who cannot do for themselves, the poor, and on and on.
