Most -- if not all -- of the "blogger viruses" are links in comments leading to booby-trapped downloads that try to infect a Windows PC. If it succeeds your PC becomes a Storm Worm bot spreading Spam and Nigerian Scam joy to everyone.
I run Linux, so a virus has to work damn hard to get into my system. No problems with this or any other blog I read. You M$ addicts really should try Linux. It works about the same for everyday use, it's free, and you can try Ubuntu without installing it- it'll run off of a CD.
Unable to post comments via OpenID and now use Name/URL or Anon instead. Maybe I'll be blocked completely at some point and WRSA just won't hear from me anymore.
I've accessed from different computers using different Windows operating systems and different connection points and I haven't had any problems. I use Firefox and NoScript, and recently added ReqestPolicy to one of my computers. I've tried several of the WRSA links and I run an antispyware scan everyday and make frequent checks with HijackThis and have seen nothing related to WRSA.
Due to security concerns, I switched over to using Linux Mint 9 as my main Operating System. No bugs compared to Windows - no anti virus needed, etc.
I use Opera or Konqueror or Firefox browsers - now I'm using Opera. I recommend you all to consider the advatages of a Linux OS - you don't have to 'Dump' Windows altogether, you can install alongside, chosing at startup whether to boot Linux or Windows.
Even simpler is to install Linux with a Windows installer - it can be installed painlessly & un-installed if you don't like it.
Anyhow, more details are here: www.linuxmint.com or www.Ubuntu.com
Online security & freedom from Hackers are easier with Linux because it's 'open source' software - unlike Windows which is 'closed source' - like a building complex that is used by the public, but access is not allowed to all areas - so it is possible for survellance bugs, etc to have a host within Windows.
Virtually impossible within Linux.
That Linux is more secure from snooping theives both in & out of government, proves its' worth.
Also, it's cost free - developed by Software enthusiasts for the benefit of all.
I'm thrilled at the freedom & peace of mind it's given our family.
There are various custom types of Linux, like for netbooks with their smaller screens: www.easypeasy.com
Wouldn't be surprised if it was the work of some of the Government's Finest exemplifying the stellar work of this current Administration and their handmaidens Holder and Napolitano. I don't doubt that the illustrious Mr. Gates gave them something in return for dropping the prosecution of his monopoly, such as a back door into his products.
My last computer (PC) ran Win XP with IE8, and got a malware. Waiting to do a total disk reformat & reload of WinXP, but NOT, NO NEVER AGAIN ANY FORM OF IE.
Currently I'm using an old iMac with Safari. FireFox is loaded in the wings if I need to transact anything secure over the interweb. No problems here.
Run Linux. And, have a virus checker compiled, installed, updating signatures daily in a cron job, and running as a background process, continuously. No virii at all detected. No problems.
My computer dropped IE8 and windows live messenger using mcafee and wouldnt reload. Tech said it was a virus from blogger

ReplyDeleteI think that particular virus only attacks computers in DOJ offices, Pelosiville, or other such networks.
ReplyDeleteOut here in Mayberry everything is peachy (just ignore the senile rantings of the once respectable Sheriff Taylor....Andy Taylor RIP).
