Kevin Baker posts two anecdotes regarding outputs of the American education system:
Quote of the Day - Edumacashun Edition
Even I Didn't Think It was This Bad
Yes, there are exceptions.
But there are also millions of similarly-situated ignoramuses, with more being produced each year.
Not to mention the "below average" millions.
And very many of them vote.
Do you understand yet?
Visit YouTube and read the comments following just about ANY video. Ignorant, crude, illiterate and just plain mean. And THERE'S the result of our "feeling" public education indoctrination system.
ReplyDeleteJay Leno's Jaywalk All-Stars are out there, and they vote, and they even get elected. It's a popularity contest, a cult of personality.
In my high school career in the '70s, it was MUCH more important that we learn about pollution and how to be good stewards of the environment of the collective than how to be good sovereign citizens of a free republic. Gee, how Soviet. We studied Alvin Toffler's "Future Shock," not the Federalist and Anti-Federalsit Papers.
It is unfortunate that the parents and grandparents who kicked tyranny's ass in the World Wars found it so difficult to talk to us about what they went through, when diplomacy failed and the tide of evil rose. I guess few wanted to listen, when everything was peace and prosperity.
What you brought up has been my pet peeve for years, the majority of the american people are dumber than fucking rocks and nobody cares that they vote and reproduce.
ReplyDeleteI'm 56 yrs old and fairly well traveled and educated. I have spent years now in small rural towns in Id and Wy because I like the quiet atmosphere. The people are another story. If it's not on TV, they haven't a clue what you are talking about. Trying to educate them to a Constitutionally aware state is a lost cause, because Fox News already told them what they need to know. Period. There is hardly a person around that wants to know or learn the truth. Way too much trouble, kind of like high school homework.
We don't have a lot of hope for the future if this is the backbone of America. Every day I become more aware that we may have lost before we even get started. You cannot change these peoples minds because the school system and main stream media already got to them. And the cancer is way more than skin deep.

Anon,
ReplyDeleteHit that nail on the head. Listen to most any general conversation around you and take note of the content. Very discouraging. We're in some deep s%^& and I see no way out other than a replay of long ago events.

Ok then. Is this where "Starving the Monkey" comes in? Or is there going to be a fight? It appears that a fight would only be a way to get us all killed. As the heavy majority of the populace would only cheer for their masters.
Anon 5:57 hit the bullseye. Unfortunately so have the Clintons, the Bushes, the Obamas, Pelosi, Reid, Hollywood elites, Rockefellers and all the usual suspects. A dumbed-down, provincial population is extremely easy to control and manipulate. Corporate media doctored the events of 9/11, refusing to show those poor souls leaping out of the WTC, and refusing to show clips of the burn victims in the hospitals because they might "inflame" people. Now, we have our enemies building a mosque right on that very sight while America is still focused on bread and circuses. If you have ever seen the original Sci-Fi film INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, you'll understand. We are fast becoming a nation of pod people. NO education, no clue, and no problem.
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't read STM, you really should:

Keeping in mind when looking at the average high school graduate, statistically, 50% of the other graduates are even less intelligent....
ReplyDeleteEncouraging, huh?
