How A GOP November Victory Could Bring Its Death

Another worthwhile piece from The American Thinker on the upcoming November illusion-shattering:

***
If the GOP gains control of one or both Houses of Congress in the November midterm elections, and then does not make good on its promises to reverse and counter the Democrats' socialist agenda, we could hear the death knell that signals the end of the Grand Old Party...

Kinda sad, eh?

The sooner old-school Americans realize the bitter fact that their belief in the modern Republican party is just another fairy tale of magical skittles-crapping unicorns, the sooner progress can be made.

No more collaboration.

  1. I don't know. Commenter baseballmaven says the Republican Old Guard should be voted out and "fresh young faces" in the Republican party should lead, including Eric "PATRIOT Act" Cantor.
Cantor IS leading, as the No. 2 Republican in the House, their minority whip.
Looks like another round of "Thank you, sir, may I have another?"
    Whap!
"Thank you, sir, may I have another?"
God save the republic, because even its politically involved people don't seem to grasp what one is.

  2. Why would that be the case? Didn't they disappoint everyone enough during the Clinton era?

People are stupid. They still believe in the magical myth of a State that can help them.

  3. 1st: Repeal the XVII Amendment. The respective states legislatures should appoint Senators just as the framers intended. There was a reason behind that original idea.

Then, abolish the party system (not likely). George Washington strongly recommended against a party system and with good reason. History has proven him out.

Right. Here is a particularly good one:

This is a long hard battle to cleanse at least one of the parties of the 100 year drift towards socialism/marxism/progressivism. Citizens who want to see this Republic restored or at the very least on the road to recovery should and do understand that this is a huge undertaking whose goals will not necessarily be accomplished in one election cycle. If we get more of the same, those elected need to get the message that they too will quickly be tossed on the ash heap of history. They need to be flushed over and over again until the waters run clear. And they need to be warned, watched, and dealt a death blow should they waver. This is a commitment and like it or not, it is what [we] must bear if we believe what we say. Many have given their lives and we should be prepared to sacrifice pieces of ours. We have no choice.--scythe

  5. Anyone that thinks the Republicans will go back to a Constitutionally Limited Federal Government, well Dream on. Yes the Republicans will probably win in November maybe big time. So what.

They may even get a couple of things done Trim a Couple of Government Programs here and there. More smoke and Mirrors at best. And that´s only If they have enough power to Override O´Barry´s Veto, or can get enough Democrats to play ball their way.

The people In Government don´t want to Limit Their Power, on either side of the fence. They both want to do things Their Way.

And that´s not the way it was intended to be, men like Thomas Jefferson, Nathanael Green, John Hancock, George Washington and Thousands of other Ordinary Men Who Risked everything and in too many cases lost all that they had, Properties, Family, Friends their very lives. So that Their Sons could be FREE to run their own lives, Make their Own Decisions, and Reap the Rewards of their Ingenuity, Skill and Labor. That was the Intention of these Men.

Not to Have a Oppressive Tyrannical King/Government bearing Over Them. Regulating what They May do or May Not do, much less what telling Them what They Must do. And then Steeling from Their Labor, Skill and Ingenuity. To Benefit others who Would Not do for themselves. These Men Intended for the Heirs to have Personal Liberty. They did the best they could, I believe to make Their Federalist Central Government a Limited One, By writing The Constitution in the way that they did.

And all was well for a short while until the Common Need began to, slowly at first, outweighed Personal Liberty. Until now and here we are, faced with a New Tyrant not entirely of our own making because it has taken Generations to get to where we are now. With the New Tyrant and I´m Not Talking about Obama, but the Government as a whole. The Ones that Know what We Need, What WE should Have. And What Is Fair or Just. Or what They would have. They have strangled our Ingenuity, with Restrictive Regulations. Stolen from our Labor, with Unfair Taxation. And are now Ordering us to purchase Services we will use under penalty of Force.

No The Republican will not want to Give Away That Power, They may Trade some of these powers back to US in return for Power over other causes that they may wish to encompass.

It has become to late to strip these Powers from the Tyrant with a ballot box. And We know where that puts US, Back at The Tree Of Liberty, and She has Grown Very Thirsty because of the Generations of Neglect.

So We Prepare, We Sharpen Our Swords and Our Wits. Make our Alliance's´s. And Know Who and Where Our Enemy Is. The Tyrant will use All that they can Against US. And If You have a God Pray to Your God for the Strenth, Courage and the Wisdom that will be Needed in the Days Ahead.

Sorry that this has run so long but I wanted to be sure that I got all this off my chest.

    SAVE THE REPUBLIC.

  7. The GOP is not run by the likes of people with Ron Paul or Tom Tancredo-like views. It is run by corporate shills who have won elections by scaring the American people. Bush was bad, Romney or Palin would be bad too. (R)s hate when people say this, but the GOP does not care about any of the people. Do you really want Boehner and Cantor running things?
We all know that elections are BS anyways, just look at 2004. Kerry and Bush both went to Yale, were both in the Skull fraternatity and both had exaggerated military records.
The only thing that can really change things is a total pullout by "Concerned Americans" from the entertainment economy (Hollywood, Pro Sports, Alcohol and Tobbaco). That will send the message loud and clear when the sin tax revenue dries up.

  8. I sent that article to both Georgia Senators and my Rep. in the 9th District. Told them all to "read and heed." This is their last chance.
