LA Times' coverage is here.

Mark Tapscott's take is here.

No joke.

  2. We don't need the "Old Journalism" for anything but their distribution channel. It's the same deal as the old model of music distribution on vinyl/cassette/CD: the stranglehold is local outlets that people consider "free" like broadcast TV/Radio. If people want the truth (or the unexpurgated local opinion and footage/audio) we will give it to them. We have blogs, we have small voice studios, we have computers and laser printers, we have Torrents, we have $200 flash-card DV cameras. The quality of our video will not be "HD", it will be "high-content".

    The People's Media belongs to whomever wishes to spend the price of a crumby used car on gear and has some motivation to use it. This isn't Government Public Access media, it's Privately-Owned-Media. Mass-Media will occasionally rise from their slumber and failing ratings to "borrow" a story from the micro-media with great fanfare.

    Hurrah! Old-Mass-Media is not so crippled as to be unable to pick up a dropped $50 on the sidewalk! Long-live State-Controlled Media!

    Cheers.

  3. Do you think that Maybe the Media will wake up to what the collectivist socialist agenda is really all about now? Or will they still follow this new Messiah into their own demise. This could be interesting if not outright comical to watch,imagine the press turning on Obuma and all he represents.One can only hope.

  4. During the last major fascist "leap forward", also known as the New Deal, the Roosevelt Junta used it's power to consolidate the publishing industry in New York, ruining publishing houses all across America. If there's anyone who can't guess why that occurred, there can't be many.

    Only leftists, and make no mistake fascism is very leftist, were allowed to remain in business and that didn't just apply to publishers either; painters, sculpters, playwrites, and lots of other fields were subject to the same treatment.

    That's what is happening in this instance in my opinion.

    The Obama fascist junta are drooling over reducing the internet, certainly, but will attack the broadcast media first. This "study" is an opening, ranging salvo.

    Get ready for more incoming.

  5. When the enemy seizes the means for us to communicate amongst ourselves and get together, they can raid us all and achieve a significant strategic victory.

    When the internet's throttled or shut down, you can expect the raids will be next...

    A quote from the article THE TRIPWIRE from the Resister:

    The time to organize resistance is not after censorship, but before it. The time to prepare resistance is when our ability to resist is being threatened. The time to begin resistance is when that threat has been upheld or ignored by the courts. The unalienable rights that safeguard our ability to resist are limited to those which, if not violated, allow us to plan and use all materials necessary for resistance. We submit that only the following meet that criteria:

    * freedom of speech and of the press, and the right to peaceably assemble--so that we may advocate ideas, report and discuss news, and instruct others how to carry out resistance activities (1st Amendment);

    * the right to keep and bear arms -- so that we may have appropriate force in our hands should we need it, and be trained to use such force as necessary (2nd Amendment);

    * the right to be let alone -- so that we may be free of government intrusion in our lives, liberty, and property (3rd Amendment);

    * the right to be secure in our persons, dwellings, papers, and property from unwarranted, unaffirmed searches and seizures -- so that our records, ideological materials, and weapons will remain in our hands (4th Amendment).

    For the purpose of this discussion, we believe that no other rights are relevant because if every individual right other than those four were violated -- although it would be an unspeakably evil act on the part of the government, justifying immediate and unforgiving resistance -- their abridgement would not effect our ability to resist. If any of the first four amendments are infringed by legislation, enforced by executive power, and their abrogation is upheld or ignored by the courts, unremitting, forcible resistance, and aid and comfort to its citizen-soldiers, is a moral imperative for every single person who believes that life, liberty, and property are unalienable and self-existing, and not grants of government privilege.

  6. The Buggy Whip union is ready to make large campaign donations to have their industry nationalized. Their slogan is "It's not too late!"

  7. O_O

    Holy shit! Here comes the information wars! Be prepared for internet freedom groups to raise all holy hell over this.

    Let's hope the outrage will help to curb this shit.

    20:1 odds that these "changes" are done via bureaucratic fiat and not through legislation. Any takers?

  8. If an enemy of ours destroyed our news infrastructure (to the extent of the Obama Administration's desires) - would that be considered an act of war? Terror? Aggression?
