Read it all.
Just as with the broken, propagandized output of "public"/governmental schools, why do people think that the current situation is not precisely the intended end-state of the Federal policies?
Heh heh heh.
He said "end state".
Heh heh heh.
I don't particularly care for Jennifer's web-page with cutesie style of writing and pink background.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, the LESO video she presented does demonstrate part of how the game works. Civilian police accepting the "benefit" of "free" gear is just so cool to them because it "helps them keep the community safe" and "saves lives" and "doesn't cost anything". Nice catch phrases but to the discerning palate it does not taste so good.
First off, nothing comes for free. Who do you think pays for that stuff? We the people pay for every penny of it. This is all part of the military-industrial complex old Dwight warned about over 50 years ago. Military contractors who are in the business of selling this stuff, hire lobbyists to convince congress that our military must have all these goodies for the purpose of exporting our notions of "democracy and freedom" around the globe. Then next year when the new line of products come out they do it again and the congress goes ahead and funds the expenditures for the latest and best gear. So the military takes it and now has a surplus of stuff from last year and they just give it away to your local law enforcement agency.
Here is the catch: THE RECIPIENT OF A BENEFIT IS ALWAYS BEHOLDEN TO THE GIVER OF SAID BENEFIT.
The cost may not be direct to the local law agency but it comes in the form of compromising the distinction between civilian policing and military operations. The 2 are distinctly different and should always be clearly kept separate in a properly functioning republic (something we no longer have). The dangers of mixing the 2 are now becoming apparent to a growing number of Americans but it is likely too late to put that evil genie back in the bottle.
America really needs to rethink her role in the world as Policeman, Savior and Nation Builder. Then we need to get back to the basics of proper policing of civilians. Military gear and tactics have no place in civilian police work. We need Peace Officers not Law Enforcers. We need to stop this insane war on drugs. We need to tell the feds to stay in that 10 square miles called the District of Columbia and out of local jurisdictions across the land.
The Columbia, MO deputy police chief (and former SWAT commanedr), Tom Dresner, seems to be the major voice in the dept justifying, explaining, exusing, and covering up the home invasion/ dog shooting incident. If he wanted to, he could provide the names of the shooters, but he does not. He is most definitely a Bad Guy. And his home address and home phone are available to the public through white pages.com. Check out the google earth overhead imagery of the address. Definitely the home of a police chief and former SWAT commander.
ReplyDeleteDemand that Tom Dresner stop covering for his buddies in SWAT and release the names of the shooters, come clean about the details of the incident and apologize. Don't just ask.....demand!
