He's bright enough to know that we're past the tipping point. This thing can only be turned around at gun point; but to say so would frighten the sheeple.
The action needed: Get involved. Easier said than done, though, for Americans who have by and large given up taking personal responsibility and would prefer to sit on the couch with a remote in one hand and a beer in the other. That's pacification.
The good doctor doesn't have a proper remedy because he does not take these "revolutionaries seriously".
In other words, he believes that the pendulum will swing back and we will again have harmony in America. It always goes like that. That is how our system works.... right? I call bullshit on that!
Some of his observations are good but his line of thinking in general is flawed as he is part of the elite he so bemoans and cannot see what is truly afoot. An over-schooled ignoramus dwelling in an ivory tower.
I've noticed a common trait among many historians such as Dr. Hanson, for whom I have much professional respect; they seem unwilling to accept that history is still happening, and that human nature is still the same as ever, and so they fail to accept that sudden, violently bloody revolutions are still possible in "civilized" nations. In my opinion, this is because such men and women have mostly only ever lived in the ivory tower of academia, and see the world and society from their unique, sheltered perspective, and the historians will be more shocked than anyone when the next chapter is written in bold, bloody letters.
They do not want to believe IT CAN HAPPEN HERE. They just cannot make themselves turn off the boob-tube and prepare. That would mean actually doing something. It is far easier to wait until it collapses and then blame someone.

VDH is a sharp mind and a good read always. Having read Starving The Monkeys though, VDH echoes what Baugh writes, but stops short of a solution.
ReplyDeleteI honestly think that even most good people are simply overwhelmed with what this really means.
Taken to its logical end, it means that the Zombamas (Zombie-Obamas)will be in charge of everything soon. Then what?

..."simply overwhelmed"???
ReplyDeleteI would submit that most Americans are in denial!
