Quote of the Week

"...This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing Government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it or their revolutionary right to dismember or overthrow it..."

-- US President Abraham Lincoln, First Inaugural Address, March 4, 1861

  1. Wow.

So a controversial president, elected in a deeply divided time, lied like a rug in all his speeches including his inaugural, then proved himself - within a year or so - to be a tyrant who did exactly the opposite of what he'd promised, and ended up touching off a bloody internecine war?

Why does this sound so familiar...??

  2. Few people recognize that he, in his own way, was almost as damaging to this country as FDR. He is certainly responsible for more deaths.

  3. It's good that people are finally starting to wake up to the fact that Lincoln was a tyrannical, bloodthirsty dictator, and soon, they will start to see that the South was right. Too bad we had to come to the end of Western Civilization first...
