A Simple Matter of Force
David announces the affirmance of David Olofson's conviction.
WND covers the matter.
The Sipsey Street Legal Advisor notes his thoughts.
And here are mine:
1) We are now (and actually have been for some time) down to a simple matter of force between those who support ever-burgeoning government power and those who oppose such totalitarianism. The concept that the Constitution, the so-called "conservatives" on the Supreme Court, fundamental fairness, or any other check on Leviathan's power has any relevance to the nuts-and-bolts of everyday life in today's America is a dangerous anachronism. Distrust automatically anyone who tells you otherwise.
2) Given that Leviathan can now, among other things, try and convict men for possession of an automatic weapon but yet not have to disclose the manner by which it was determined that the firearm in question was actually capable of automatic fire, don't think that any semi-automatic firearm in your possession can't also be the basis of a felony conviction.
3) The term "a simple matter of force" refers not only to the power of Leviathan, but, more importantly, also to the rules now in effect. The rule of law was established so that disputes between parties could be addressed without resorting to violence. Look over the past nine months and tell me -- logically and factually -- how it can still be argued that the Federal Government is still bound -- in any arena -- by the rule of law.
Alea iacta est.
The die is cast.
Yes, we are being forced. To live under ever increasing encroachment upon all aspects of our lives by a government hell bent on the subjugation of it's people. When will it be a simple matter of force upon force? To paraphrase Claire Wolfe, aren't we now past the awkward stage?
ReplyDeleteI can't go to David's or Mike's or now here without this being heavy on my heart.
ReplyDeleteI'm upset to a level I can't articulate.
McVeigh wanted to use a defense of "imminent danger". Which he wanted to argue does not necessarily mean immediate.
The government of the US is actively pushing me towards his rational. How freaky is that?
Don't forget the relief fund for his family. Be a shame to see a family lose everything over government misdeeds.

Well past. All we need now is guts.
ReplyDeleteCertainly one step closer to a full on police state when trials are obviously not fair by breaching Discovery, disallowing expert witnesses, obfuscating documents and methods for testing, especially such that was pivotal.
ReplyDeleteCertainly gives rise to renewed consideration on how to interact with feds...

I'll paraphrase someone "the beast likes to push people to the brink and keep them there-just shy of going over the edge".
ReplyDeleteThe government will use the Olofson travesty as excuse to hammer those of us with semiautomatic arms more, maybe they'll say we show intent of having a prohibited(by them)machine gun by mere possession of a semiautomatic rifle.
I'm tempted to say that they want to push people over that edge but two people already did that-with AK-47's-and they haven't dropped the hammer... the rest of the way...
I believe the beast is still hoping to get as many people as possible piecemeal, one at a time all alone.
Don't be alone.
Insist on a function test with ammo of any semiautomatic rifle you buy, to ensure you're not going to buy a malfunctioning weapon that will get you busted by some fed or snitch.

Your final point (3) on the failure of the rule of law is summed up and confirmed by the statements on this financial blog, of all places:

Money quote:
"I use this term, "fascism," quite deliberately. I also use it well aware that many will consider it needlessly inflammatory. Be this as it may, I submit there is simply no other term that properly describes the style and tenor of government emerging both in public and behind once closed doors."

The enemy properly goaded and guided in his reaction will be your major strength.--Saul Alinsky
ReplyDeleteHere we begin our lurching toward the abyss. As patriots find themselves vexed by repeated violations of their God-given rights, the temptation of anarchy beckons.
This would be a grave mistake.
The Clinton/Obama cabal is well-versed in political jujitsu. All the forces of repression and subjugation are available to them. To directly challenge their authority by initiating armed resistance would simply strengthen their hold on power.
We can sap their power indirectly; we must do so by rebuilding our own crumbling foundations.
Volunteer to teach a Sunday school class. Meme: Resistance to tyranny is obedience to God.
Read up on the literature of liberty: the Anti-federalist papers, Frederich Bastiat's "The Law", Hayek's "Road to Serfdom".
Take a course of instruction on small unit tactics. Gabe Suarez, et al, offers them. As Alinsky (op. cit.) has noted, a threat is more to be feared than the threat's execution. Don't make empty threats; instead, be a palpable one.
Now is the time to prepare yourself morally, mentally and militarily. The fight will be joined sooner than anyone could want.
The best strategy is to let the other guy make the first fatal mistake. You cannot know the time or place of its happening but you can put your logistical house in order so as to better your chances of prevailing.
God speed.

Too long between visits here. This is a good blog, indeed.
ReplyDeleteWhat will it take? How many more straws? How long?
