Another screaming deal by which you can convert your paper dollars into useful tools:- the "bargain bin" ARs at CMMG, starting at $570;
- the $9.95 30 round mags at the same site (just scroll down); and
- the M193 55 grain 5.56 ammo at Ammoman, where $425 gets 1000 rounds delivered to your door, and $2000 gets 5000 rounds delivered.
No financial interests in any of these companies - just a desire to get folks to understand that it truly is "buy now or cry later".

Thanks for the info. I spent a little more in December for the rounds(Bulk). But it was worth it, even though it went up only slightly this year over last.
ReplyDeleteI've been drooling over that ammo for a few days now. I'd love to order 5000 rounds but, damn, $2000 is a lot of money and I have other survival needs that I'm lacking in.
ReplyDeleteI also have looked at the bargain bin ARs for a while now and have read good things about them. But, I'm wondering if I'd be better off saving up and getting a Sig Sauer 556 instead.
The ability to exchnage parts with ARs you might "find" would concern me with the Sig.
ReplyDeleteARs are ubiquitous; Sigs are not, at least here in the former USA.
I like the picture, looks like a an Ar-15 in 7.62x39, check out the magazine, that does not look like a 223 mag, but rather a franken-mag, which is half AK mag welded onto the top part of a AR mag.
ReplyDeleteC-products will hopefully have a real 25 round mag for 7.62x39 for the AR, which due to the large taper on the case cause problems.
That's a good point about exchanging parts with ARs.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I was questioning was, given that the 556 costs twice as much as the bargain bin ARs, is it twice the rifle? And, as a non-soldier (even after it hits the fan), will I need twice the rifle anyway. The 556 appears to be a great design, but it really is more rifle than I need.

So, for a few dollars more than the SIG, you have action ammo, mags, and a 22LR training kit. Add a couple of Black Dog Machine mags (about $30/each; you can then obtain the dexterity practice of mag changes while using 22LR) and you'll be in pretty good shape.
