Blogger FUBAR

Disappearing and then returning posts.

Disappearing and then partially-returning comments.

The free cheese from Blogger is causing binding and griping.

Will look into relocating to Wordpress or other.

Anyone with experience, weigh in.

Meanwhile, go do PT and enjoy the weekend.

That's what I am doing.

  1. Yes, blogger screwed up. I don't post but have been reading this and many others for several years now and can not remember a similar screwup. I do like the format. Maybe you should ask for your money back.

  2. I noticed that several blogs went down the other night including this one, Sipsey Street Irregulars, Green Mountain Homesteading. Others on the same provider were fine. Interesting....... A test perhaps?

  3. Same here.

Will look into Wordpress as time allows.

Others have made the move seamlessly.

There is seldom a problem and if so, they respond immediately and the fix is usually in minutes.

  5. Speaking of PT: There's a surplus outfit out of Missouri called armygear.net. Net, not com. They probably still have the current issue Molle II packs in 3-color desert camo at a real low price, under $70, and brand new. The suspension of that pack, is much improved over the Alice packs, and the suspension is adjustable for torso length. This pack is fine with Chicom chest rigs, and with Russian Grad 2 mag vests. It's not compatible with LC-1 suspender harnesses. Times have moved on, and harnesses aren't cool for the Army anymore... that pack works with the current Molle vests, if you can stand those things.

Anyway, PT: Load it up and put it on, then walk. Forty pounds of pack will increase the benefit of the normal walk, and is a weight light enough to not destroy joints... any more than that much obesity would do in activities of daily life. Heh... losing even ten pounds means either that more can be carried in the ruck, or the same ruck load is ten pounds lighter to cover the miles with.

CA, hope you find a solution to the Blogger problem. Blogger has never treated me real well as a "commenter." This will probably get lost also.

  7. Wordpress appears a lot more professional, don't know about its cost, but a friend moved from blogger for much the same reason.

  9. Ohnoes, the government is trying to get you to ask for help against the cyber attacks from ___________ (fill in the enemy).

Of course, you'll have to register and meet certain guidelines as to content.

  10. host your own site with your domain name. I use the Joomla CMS and wordpress for Joomla for blogging. Or just use Wordpress.

  11. WordPress is great, and easy to set up. The software is free, if you use your own Web site. YOu can also use Blogger on your own site, if you want to stay away from outside control.

  12. Meh...

Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Shiat happens -- and the fine-print in any for-fee service wouldn't put any of us in any better position.

    $0.02...

  15. It happened to me as well. Had to repost something, then the old post reappeared. This morning I was still mopping up keyword glitch problems. I've also had problems with the links to prior months' posts not working.
