I have trained my squad with the discussion type debrief I got from my guys while practicing SOPs and immediate action drills. We have even applied some of the techniques in the book during live fire exercises with some of our own twists. All of my men were new straight from SOI. I had one LCPL become an acting squad leader on his first deployment with seniors and lead them through several firefights. I talked to a few of the guys in the squad and heard nothing but goods things about him. I believe that the path I took helped bring everything they felt a lack of knowledge in or practice and got them involved , which elevated how quickly my men were ready for the fight. They were able to answer thing many of the other squad leaders couldn’t. one thing I got from them is that you put your time in your men in the team to squad level you will have a damn good team/squad.Robert Sumner IInoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2469109905542911409.post-26283644329790329302011-02-28T08:24:42.786+00:002011-02-28T08:24:42.786+00:00Necroposting again.
