The Morning After

From Insty, who snarks:

Except I don’t think that evacuating Saigon cost $200 million a day.

Indeed.

  1. I've seen that number in several locations. I would like true confirmation, because if this is true, it is egregious and despicable. It is enough money to fight a war, and more money than all but the top 1/5 of countries spend on their yearly military budgets. We're talking 3 F-22 raptors or half of an aircraft carrier.

  3. I don't care who won or lost. It's all still the same. I did vote, but really this is a perfect example of how things stay the same! 200 million a day?!? cartridges are STILL cheaper.....

  5. In the medieval days I'm so fond of, this would be called a "royal progress."

Checking out job prospects, maybe. How much would we have to pay them to keep him?

  9. Read the link: it's INDIA'S cost, as host country, just as we would for some visiting dignitary. And it nowhere says PER DAY.
Don't you folks remember some major terrorist attack in India in the semi-recent past?? They are going to bend over double backward to secure this visit, AS HOST COUNTRY, AT THEIR COST.
It's THEIR official saying it will cost $200M - for them, as we would for a GUEST.
Get a fucking grip, and learn how to read!
